My Xbox 360 Elite was playing fine for a while.but now the dashboard keeps popping up about every 30 sec. I've changed batteries in the controller and even shut it off and let a dvd play but the dashboard keeps coming up
Take all controllers out of range and see if the problem persists. You probably have a lazy button on 1 controller.Take all controllers out of range and see if the problem persists. You probably have a lazy button on 1 controller.

I had this exact same issue the other day. Changing the batteries did not work for me, but don't cross that off of the list quite yet. This worked for me:
1.) Pop the battery pack off of the controller. This is the only way you're going to be able to turn it off. Wait about 5 seconds and put the battery pack back into the controller.
2.) Turn on your X-Box with the power button ON THE CONSOLE. It should turn ON. If it doesn't, unplug the X-Box for 30 seconds, plug it back in, and try again.
3.) When your X-Box turns on, go ahead and hit the controller's power button. Things should function normally from this point forward.
Please let me know if this works for you!
if this for xbox 360 elite or just regular, your wireless controller need a good battery, Once you replace the battery. Connect the wireless controller on your xbox closely and go the sub menu of xbox 360 to check the configuration for wireless.
there was a update a while back this year or last that changes the whole of xbox live gaming eg parties are now availible new channels inside xbox spotlight etc nothing to worrie about
If you have uploaded the updates, this happens all the time. you must go to "my xbox" option and there will be a disc there. Hit "A" and it will play the disc.
It sounds like your drive has died. You will need to purchase a replacement from Microsoft or a licensed dealer. You can't replace with a generic drive as the Xbox uses proprietary firmware on them.
Hi Jake,
Yhe only thing noticable here, is that the 360 elite has the 60 gig hard-drive instead of the Standard 20 gig, as fitted with the white 360. perhaps you might be able to try a 20 gig hard-drive on the box. May work, worth a shot. i,d also check microsofts site, for any game updates or patches for the game itself.
hope this helps ya buddy.
p.s plenty of people would be willing to trade your elite for a standard white 360. this would be another alternative.
