Question about LG 47LG50 47 in. LCD HDTV
I have a new TV. For about 2 weeks now. Everytime I watch tv it works great for a certain amount of time then the TV will stop responding to the remote control and even the controls on the side of the TV itself stop responding.
There's clearly a heat-stressed component in there, possibly something as simple as a badly soldered joint in which a gap opens up due to heat expansion.
It's not that old a TV so may be covered under warranty. If not it's going to need to go into a repair centre where they can find the fault and repair or replace the affected part.
Re-soldering a bad joint isn't always possible in which case the circuit board which it's located on gets replaced instead.
