My msi laptop ms 171c after installing new window 7 it does not connect to wi fi network at home

Is your wireless nic on and are the appropriate drivers installed ? (check this in device management, by right clicking computer in the start menu and choose manage->device management)

if this is the case you need to reconfigure your wireless network adapter, after the installation the card is also rset and previously configured security settings are lost. If you have any security enabled this has to be re-enabled: go to network center and click on manage wireless networks, click add and follow the wizard. make sure you have your credentials at hand (mac adress, ssid, wpa or wep keys etc, depending on the type of security you have in your router or Access point)

My computer does not accept sound software

For Windows to recognize your sound card, you must find and install a compatible driver for your sound card. Most sound cards require driver software to work properly. Be sure that you have installed any software discs that came with the device. If you don't have a disc or the software on the disc does not solve the problem, follow these steps:

  1. Check if a driver for your sound card is available through Windows Update. For more information, see Install Windows updates.

  2. If Windows Update does not find a driver for your sound card, visit the website of the sound card manufacturer to check if a driver is available. If one is available, download it. If not, contact the manufacturer.

  3. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.png, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.? 18abb370-ac1e-4b6b-b663-e028a75bf05b.png If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  4. In Device Manager, look for a sound card under Sound, video and game controllers and confirm that Windows does not recognize your card.

  5. Close Device Manager.

  6. Open Control Panel by clicking the Start button 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.png, and then clicking Control Panel.

  7. In the Search box in Control Panel, type add hardware.

  8. Click Install drivers for older devices with Add Hardware wizard. 18abb370-ac1e-4b6b-b663-e028a75bf05b.png If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation

Computer that once was connected to internet now does not connect and it states that "could not detect any wired or wireless network cards". How do I repair this?

Click start - run - type devmgmt.msc - see if network adapters are listed here - if you find expand them and see their names - If you want right click them one by one and uninstall them - restart PC as restarting PC will load the network drivers if it was biult in to the OS ..

Try browsing internet and see what happens,
If fails,
Click start - run - type cmd- type ipconfig /all and note down what you get esp Ip address.
type there ping ip address(For Ex ping and see if we receive all the packets.

Tell me the status if your issue is not resolved,
Awaiting response

Network adaptetr issue

First make sure you have the latest drivers downloaded for your card.
Then go to control panel, device manager, and make sure wireless card is enabled.
You can also go to your wireless properties and make sure that the card is enabled and working correctly. Use add hardware if needed. If you have an installation cd, you should install it.

Go into device manager (control panel, system, hardware, device manager). Under network connections, right click your network interface card and select uninstall. Reboot the computer and it will automatically reinstall.

My gateway gt5432 wireless interface is not working

Go into the device manager and uninstall (right click and choose uninstall) the network card, reinstall it by chooseing actions, scan for hardware changes (in the device manager). Its an Ip address conflict probably. or open a command screen by typing cmd in the run dialog and then type ipconfig at the curser. See if you have an Ip address, if not type in ipconfig "space" /renew. This will give your computer a new ip addy. Good Luck!

Device won't start Code 10

Try starting in Safe mode (press F8) before the WinXP start screen appears, then uninstall the device. Also you can check "Show Hidden Devices" in device manager.

Also try a different slot if there is one available.

Code 10 means there isn't any resources or address left for your card.

Also make sure your BIOS is set for automatic plug and play mode in case the setting was reset somehow.
