Question about Maxtor Personal Storage 3200 (U01E200) 200 GB Hard Drive
I accidentally used the wrong power supply now the green light is flashing and I can not access any data. Is it lost forever?
First, disconnect the power cable from the back of the external hard drive:

I had the same problem... flashing green light and computer wouldn't recognize drive. When I unplugged drive from laptop, unplugged a/c power cord from Maxtor 3200 drive and replugged a/c back in, still immediately got flashing green light. Did research on-line, including contacting manufacturer (now Seagate)... all of whom said to simply try purchasing a new a/c power supply. Found it on ebay for 10 bucks and problem solved... now have access back to Maxtor 3200 external hard drive.
