Question about RIM BlackBerry 8800

4 Answers

Call barring I bought a 2nd hand blackberry pearl, after a week it's saying no sim card and all calls were barred. I'm presuming it was a stolen phone and the original owner had it blocked. Is there anything I can do to get it working again?

Re: call barring

It that was the case, no.......what you can try to do, to be sure, try putting another sim card in the phone.....if that doesnt work, you will have to do a wipe of the could have gotten a virus. in order to do that, go to options, security options, general settings, press the menu button and select wipe handheld

Re: call barring

I bought a bold 9700 from AT&T, and have unlocked it. Put a fido 3g sim card in. On the 3G network I can do everything including recieving phone calls but when i go to dial out it says " Call failed due to SIM Took kit control error. Please try again then it says "SIM:Call Barred." I have tried everything from checking call barring options to everything and it seems that nothing works. However when i switch to the 2G network everything works and I can make outgoing calls.

I talked to blackberry tech and they said that for some odd reason the 4000 series sim cards have this error only on the unlocked AT&T bberry bolds for it was the same problem on the Bold9000 and now on the Bold 9700.

Can anyone help. ! ! ? for i cannot use the 3g @ all times and its annoying to switch back and forth...

2. Buy a new sim card.
If this does not work, then check to see if it is unlocked.

I bought a blackberry pearl from someone and i tried to put my sim card in it but it rejects it i called the provider of the phone and they wont give it to me is there anyway for me to get te unlock code

In this case you need to contact that particular person from whom you bought the Handheld and ask him to contact the service provider for the Handheld unlock code and they will unlock the Handheld and you can use any Sim card in that particular Handheld.
I hope I was able to you.
Thank you for using Fixya.
