What do you get when you drop to DOS and type IPCONFIG? Does it give you 0.1 as the gateway and your computer as 0.something?

Is your computer physically plugged into the router? That's the best way to tinker with router settings, as changing them can easily disconnect any wireless connection you have running.

How do I change the ssid and reset security

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. If you need the to change the SSID and Network Key you need to access the Wireless Settings Page.

To access the router page just open a browser then type 192.168.1.1, the Default username is blank and the password is admin. Go to the Wireless Tab select Wireless Security you will see the SSID you can personalize it and under the Security Mode you will see there Network Key or Security Key. The Network Key or Security Key serves as a password or security code on your network to make it secure.

You can also reset the router by pressing the Reset button at the back of it for 15-30 seconds using a Pen and a Paper Clip.

If you have questions please let me know. Thanks for using Fixya.
