Kenmore top load water temp switch problems and hot water rinse

The plumbing in our house is mixed, so we have the hoses switched so they match up correctly on our Kenmore top load washer that is only a year old. When the water temp switch is set to cold, hot water comes out. If I switch mid fill to hot, the water goes to cold or luke warm. If I set the temp at cold and turn the hot water valve off, the washer won't fill at all. When it comes to the rinse cycle, it rinses in hot water and not cold. Trying to figure out how to fix this. Thanks!

Hi, Switch the hoses around going to the mixer/inlet valve. I am sure this will take care of the problem.
If not, please let me know so I can assist you further.

If you live in or near a big city, there is a part you might use that might solve this problem. I bought one for my daughter's house. It is a "split hose", it is in the shape of a "Y". You screw the bottom of the "y" to the water outlet, then screw the top two legs of the "Y" to each of the connectors on the back of the machine, means you have whatever water that the Y is hooked to going in to both of the connections on the back of your machine.

Be blessed.

You may have 2 defective parts.
First, make sure the hot and cold water hoses are connected correctly and both turned on.
If the water fill problem is the same, the water temp switch is bad.
The not filling after the wash cycle could be a bad lid switch.
Set the machine for SPIN and turn it on.
If it does not spin, replace the lid switch.

The cold water wash and rinse does not work. Instead of cold water its always warm. Have changed the switch and temperature control board and the problem persists. Have checked the solenooid valves they...

check your hoses if they are switched around..............hot water should be on the left and cold should be on the right...............if all is good, just try and switch it around and check.............the timer should not be a problem for water temps...........usually its the solenoid vavle or the temp switch.............

feed back would be good if this helps anybody........
if anything just message ................

Kenmore front-load washer stops at rinse cycle

When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it.
Good luck!

Should the washer be hot after the rinse cycle?

Try cycling a cold/cold wash and see how that comes out.. if it comes out hot then your water inlet valve is letting hot water in when it shouldn't.. conversely, try cycling a hot/hot wash and see that it does indeed come out hot... ( quick tests to verify performance)..hope this helps.

Water fill temp.

check to make sure that your hot water isn't connected to the cold side this is the number one cause for your problem all washers rinse in cold so if you switch to and its hot cold then your hose is on the wrong valve just switch the fill hoses see if that don't fix it

sounds like you have a bad water valve,,either that or a bad water temp select switch,(doubt that). way more common is a bad water valve.
