Question about Acer Aspire 9500 Notebook
Sounds like a board related issue. if this were an lcd issue and the vga chip aint fried, then you should be able to power on a separate monitor by pluggin it into the external vga port usually on the side of the laptop. if you get picture and everything on the external monitor then you know you have a failed lcd or inverter. in the event that it does not get picture on the external and the laptop is still greenlit, you may find that there is a more serious problem with the board. i have seen this happen too often recently with overheating video chips. good luck
