go to bios and check whether those keys are beeping or not.. if yes then its not a hardware issue... if they dont beep then the keyboard needs a replacement contact the laptop manufacturer company.
now u myt ask me how to go to bios... when u are powering on ur computer... as soon as you see the lights on the keyboard have come up immediately start tapping on the f10 key.. u will see the bios page coming up.. initially u myt see some thng called " save configuration changes.." choose no and then the bios screen will come... check the keys which are not typing if they beep.. then good.. all u need to do is reformat ur hard drive .. with the recovery cd.. or else if they dont contact ur laptop manufacturer company

Take the keys off yor keyboard, clean and remove and dirt, replace keys and try again

Does this happen with almost every key, or only certain keys? And if you press a key very quickly, does it still register it as 4 presses?

Also, please confirm the operating system on the laptop, such as XP or Vista.
