Question about 2wire HomePortal 1800HG Router (1000400229000)
I have a small 5 person office using AT&T dsl with a 2wire 2700hg-b. All machines are running win xp pro and standard microsoft stuff.
once or twice a day, the users find themselves unable to send email or access the company's external website (hosted by the same provider, probably same machine).
they reset the 2wire and all is normal again for awhile.
I have had AT&T out twice to replace the 2wire device.
It would seem to me that something in the firewall of the device is getting ticked and blocking access.
There are possibilities of network broadcast on your network, that choks the firewall. The next time when you have this problem, try isolating the machines one by one & narrow down the issue.
