Try moving the car charger in the cigarette lighter plug, sometimes they don't connect well(powers on then off when you let it go)

Vu will not charge

It is the battery, the battery has gone bad if it will not charge at all. You will probably need to buy a new battery you can find these cheap at one of the following sites

-ebay.com

-amazon.com

-newegg.com

My lg vu will not charge

There are 2 possible problems you are having. You charger is going bad as evidenced by th cable going bad. Take it to a carriers store and try a different charger.

The other issue may be the charging port is going bad. Having to tape the charger may be an indication of that.

Try a different charger first but if that is not the problem check out the following link for ways to fix the charge port on your LG VU

Your charging port is probably going bad. It seems to happen fairly regulary on the lg VU

you can get it repaired or get a workaround external battery charger.

My LG VU charges just fine sometimes, and other times it will say its charging and drain the battery, and other times it wont register that its charging at all.I have 2 house chargers, and one car charger...

well about the arrows being upside down, some phones like this one the charger goes in up side down like for example the katanas. But about the charging issue check in the back of the phone and look for a red or white sticker or maybe pink. if its red then thats indicating that it has been water damaged and if its white then that indicates that if might not be but if you look in the charge port and check if it has like some green and white corosion in it. Lg Vu wont charge

First you must determine is it the charger faulty or the phone ? , have you a friend with the same phone if so try her or his battery to see if your phone is ok if so try the charger with your battery and see if it charges if it does get a new charger , if it did not charge or work with your friends battery or charger the sorry it would be cheaper to buy a new phone than try to get it fixed ...
if you haven't got a friend with the same phone have a local electrician check if there is an output from your charger . if there is it may just be the battery try a new one if still no luck it is probably the phone's charger circuit gone pop ,, sorry .. vortash

It is loose now the charging port may have gotten broken. It happens with the LG VU's.

If this is the case, you have 3 options.

1. repair -warranty preferably
2. new phone
3 or external battery charger. cheapest option
