Problem for HP Compaq nx6310 PC Notebook
Installed New RAM in laptop. Led works but screen is blank.

Hp Compaq 6730s.
Just installed 2 sticks of new RAM (2GB each) but the screen won't come on.
Switched each with original 1 GB stick and tried them both solo - still doesn't work.
Only the original RAM is working.
Please help.

- The RAM is 800 Mhz. Confirmed that it was the correct RAM with the HP website before ordering and after receiving.Solution #1

did you check the type of RAM you are inserting maybe the RAM is not compatible
a ram has many specifications including the frquency at which it works
so check if you got the right ram for the laptop
the frequncy is something like 533, 800 Mhz so see the one you had originally and get the one required for the laptop

but still try this thing may be there might be a setting in the bios for the change in rom i do not know wheter there is one or not but try to enter your bios and try to put it to default & safe mode and then reboot
