I have a brand new (2months old) Whirlpool Duet electric dryer, model number WED9200SQ0. When drying clothes yesterday and then today, it runs for a couple of minutes and cuts off. Error code F23 is displayed. I can't find the meaning of the code anywhere.. Please advise if possible..
I don't have a manual on the newest dryer like you have, but one of the models just older than yours has a F23 code that indicates a shorted thermistor.( temp sensor )
Since it is new you need to call for service. They will usually look up the code and tell you if it is anything you need to check but most likely you will need a repairman to repair it in warranty.
Post back if you have any questions.
Here's some magic help on the dryers: I have a duet sport- Whirlpool hides the complete service manual inside the cover at the bottom front of the machine- remove the bottom 2 screws, drop the cover & you have all test & service instructions--- (:

My dryer knob gets stuck. The dryer will run for hours, once for 8 when I was gone one day. It stays in the same spot, not rotating at all. How do I fix this?

Hi my in-laws have a whirlpool LGP6848AWO gas dryer that does not run. The drum motor does turn on and the gas flame does not fire up. It basically does nothing, however, I can hear the timer running and I can hear the start relay energize or click when I hit it and I can hear that the timer stops and the start relay de-energize when I open the door. I've check input voltages, voltage across the start relay seems and across the thermo switches 120vac. Btw the buzzer (part of the tan wire system) seems dead, yet could be normal. Otherwise everything seems to check out. The motor has a block on it with five wires and I do have 120v, yet not sure where it should be. It's difficult to work on, since the front panel also holds the drum in place to run, so I pulled the belt, yet it's still not all that easy. Since its 17 years old, I'm inclined to tell them to get a new one, of course my wife wants me to fix it for them. Any ideas?
