Thanks for replying so fast !!! I tried everything ... all the combinations ( at start-up when, wasnt waiting for the windows splash screen) and still nothing... I guess i should have mentioned that before :( my bad... ( i was getting annoyed )... Hmm the thing is that I dont see anything on the screen until I get an error that Windows is missing its system files so I cant give any other details... Tried pausing system start up hoping that it would show some info on the screen but nothing... Thanks again !!! If you have any other ideas I'm all ears !

There are several ways to access the BIOS. Usually the Delete key at boot up (just hit it repeatedly when you start seeing stuff) or the F1 key is also a popular method of accessing BIOS. Another option on things like HP is to hit the "F10" or "F12" key. One of these should work for you. Don't wait until you see the Windows "Splash" screen or you've waited too long. Sometimes you may have to wait for it to boot up and then restart, especially if you have a CRT monitor instead of an LCD as it can take awhile for a CRT to "warm up" and start displaying.

Hi, sorry, I can't provide any more suggestions. I went to the Enlight website and downloaded the joke of a manual. There were no instructions on how to access the setup options, so I suspect they don't intend for you to do so. Perhaps you need a special floppy disk? Some computers used to use a proprietary boot floppy to access the BIOS, but I haven't seen that in years.

Perhaps you can open the system up and see if there is a CMOS reset switch or jumper and get it to come up that way.

Vista will not load from CD

Your computer is probably set to boot to the Hard drive BEFORE the CD rom in the BIOS. Research how to access the "system configuration" or BIOS when your computer first turns on. Search through the BIOS menus and see if there's a place to set the "Boot Order". Change the boot order to boot to the CD Rom before the Hard drive.

Recovery Issues A105-s361. Boot sequence always starts with HDD. Tried F12, tried F2 (bios). Any other way to boot from recovery disk(CD-ROM)!!

There is still a way for you to boot from your CD ROM. Just access or go to BIOS again, look for "BOOT" tab and then set the boot sequence of your computer and the set the first priority to be on the (ODD or CD DVD ROM), just make sure you put the CD ROM option at the first section and to do that, Use the arrow keys on your keyboard and highlight it and then press normally "F5 and F6" further instruction are there any way. Once your done, press F10 and select save and exit, Insert the disc on the CD ROM restart your computer at that time your computer should be booting now from the CD ROM.

Cheers . . .

Cant` load disc`s

For that you need to set first boot device as cd/dvd rom in bios.
When you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or del or aLT+F2 key to enter in bios.
Then go to boot menu and set first boot device as cd/dv rom then save settings and exit from bios.
Then it will boot with windows disk.
If it still not boot then make sure your cd/dvd rom and windows disk is perfect.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks for using FixYa.

How to reset the bios password for nec versa m350.. pls help!!! i want to reinstall my OS but i can't access the bios setup to change the settings to boot from cd rom upon startup. there is a bios...

Restart the computer, and read the first message (white text on a black background), hoping that it says something like "press F1 to enter BIOS setup, press F12 to select boot priority".

If it does, press F12, and then select the CD-ROM device as the "bootable" device.

Cannot boot from cd and run setup

When booting, the writing on the black screen should give you a couple of options akin to

Press F2 to edit boot options or
Press "Del" to enter setup. (bios)

You can use either, but you need to set your CD/DVD disk drive as the first boot option.

System reboot

Depending on what bios it has it may not show the cd drive. All you can do is set it to auto or if it has the option to cd or atapi. Then set the boot order so that the cd is looked at before the hard drive and you should then boot off of the cd.

Fujitsu lap top cant find cd rom so i cant load softwear

Go check your BIOS to make sure the cd rom drive is recognized by the system first, as if it is not, you will not be able to use it.
If the cd drive is removable, try removing it and reinstalling it first.
If the drive is recognized press the F12 key to get into the boot selection and choose CD Boot.
I hope this helps.
Good Luck.

Hp 530 notebook cant boot from a cd drive

There is one possible reason for this issue
  1. CMOS battery
Troubleshooting Steps
Open the computer case and find the battery on the computer motherboard, verify that it will be accessible and that it can be removed. Most computers today use a coin cell CMOS battery. Removed the battery and put it back. This will reset the BIOS setting to default. Change the setting and select first boot device as CD ROM. If that doesn’t work then replace the CMOS battery. After replacing the CMOS battery please change the BIOS setting and select first boot device as CD-ROM.

Cant boot from a cd

You have to go into the BIOS setting and change the first boot device to the CD-ROM. For Acer accessing the BIOS is one of the following key combinations:

F1, F2, CTRL+ALT+ESC

Watch you screen during boot up. It may tell you which key or keys to press to enter setup.
