Did you check the CD you used when you installed Windows XP or Vista? A cause of a PFN_LIST_CORRUPT error is a badly copied or scratched installation CD.To work around this, install Windows XP or Vista again - this time using a clean CD and preferably, a genuine Windows CD.Annoying you with a pfn_list_corrupt error is one reason why Windows installation CDs cost quite a sum - its because they see to it that their CDs are free from errors.
PFN_LIST_CORRUPT error and a bad case of memory If you are done installing Windows XP or Vista again, and a PFN_LIST_CORRUPT error shows up when you start up your PC, the problem might lie on bad memory module.
Here’s what you’d do… Try re-seating your memory stick to another slot on your motherboard and restart your computer. If a PFN_LIST_CORRUPT error is still there, then try swapping a memory stick that you know is OK.

When all else fails… If a PFN_LIST_CORRUPT error still keeps on showing up after trying the solutions I mentioned, I’m sorry, those are the two solutions I know that you can do for free. The other choices would be either to buy a new memory module to try out or buy a third party software that tried to fix the problem for you.

A blue screen pops up when i turn on my computer statint that a problem has been detected and windows has shut down the code on the screen is 0x00000024-(0x00190203, 0x86f70008, 0xc0000102, 0x00000000)

Hi,
This stop error means that your ntfs file system is corrupt (damage in the file system, bad hard drive data, corrupt SCSI or IDE drivers or a corrupt ntfs.sys file).
Try the following:
- Enter to Recovery Console (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307654/en-us)
- Run the command: CHKDSK C: /F
- Restart the computer
If you are unable to load Windows there is a chance that your partition is corrupt beyond repair. In that case, you need to reformat the partition to be able to use it again.
Before this, and if you do not have a backup, you should consult a technician because you can try installing the faulty disk in another PC to try to recover the data.
Good luck!

How do i fix my computer with a blue screen that keeps shutting it off?

Blue screen errors, or blue screen of death (BSOD) errors, are the most severe errors Windows can encounter. Since Windows can not recover from this kernel level error, a blue screen is displayed with the error details. The error details contain a STOP error code, which indicates the type of error.
There are a lot of possible causes for blue screen errors, but most of them relate to the computer hardware. The cause of a BSOD error can be a temperature problem, a timing error, a resource conflict, hardware failure, a corrupt registry, a virus or simply a device incompatibility or driver error.
Post your OS please!

Computer turns on, no signal to lcd. Hard drive

The blue screen was caused by corrupted drivers or a virus that was corrupting the drivers. Have you tried starting the machine in SAFE mode? To do this press F8 while the computer is starting before Windows loads. You should get a menu with several SAFE mode choices. Select SAFE mode and continue. If the computer works fine at this point, I suggest downloading the following AVGFREE.exe, MALWAREBYTES.exe and SUPERANTISPYWARE.exe. Run these to absolutely eliminate any chance of a virus. Once done go to START, Run and type SFC/scannow. You’ll need to have your original CD’s handy. This will replace any corrupt drivers. Now, what to do if you can’t get into SAFE mode. The question then is anything showing on the screen? If nothing but you can hear the fans but no beep codes I suggest you take the laptop to a reputable repair person or check my website www.micromendllc.com. Good luck.

HP Pavilion DV6 1108 notebook - Blue screen

Yes get and install the latest Video card drivers for you card & operating system, this may help, but FIRST, simply try going into Device manager, and Uninstalling the Driver for the Video card, reboot and let windows install the driver, it may install the "Generic" version, and that may fix your problem. as an aside sometimes it is the RAM on the Video card that goes faulty? Hopefully it will not be that.

Blue Screen with various STOP error messages appearing.

This is a tough one to troubleshoot since there are several issues which can result in this error. Let me start by listing known causes.

Corrupt pagefile.sys file
Corrupt or wrong drivers for system devices. printer, camera, ect.
Corrupt program drivers, adobe elements, capture card software.
Bad System Ram Modules.

You didn't specify if you installed anything new, hardware or software but to trouble shoot this issue begin by download Memtest86. This will test your system boards memory for errors.
If your ram passes the test you might try removing other devices such as printers and its software. Testing the issue after each uninstall.

Last you can try replacing system files or performing a system repair using your operating system cd. If you need to run the repair option and need help just post back here.

Hope this helps.

Erratic behavior - system halts with blue screen with error codes

sounds like serious memory errors. download and boot to "memtest86" to terst your ram for errors, but it may also be the memory controller.

you can try also to swap slots between the memory sticks and see if it works better with the sticks swapped.
