The lights (link light) on the hub indicate the LAN cable from the computer to the hub is connected and working.Disconnect the cable fron the hub and the computer then connect the Lan cable to the computer first and the other end of the LAN cable to the hub anf the link light for that LAN port on the hub should light up. If not the LAN cable could be faulty then try a different LAN cable. NEXT Try turning off the power to the hub for 30 secs, reconnect the power and check the LED lights. If this does not fix the problem then it appears the hub is faulty.
I have a hard time believing six would all fault the same way. I would first check your router/switch for problems which is common to fault on power spikes,(often fixed with a 1 minute power down) then check your phone servers connection.
hope that helps you.
To change the speaker, you would have to take apart the whole laptop because top bezel wouuld need to come off. As far as replacing the broken LAN port, you would need the exact LAN port. Meaning you would need to unsolderr the old LAN port an replace it with the new working LAN port. Either way you would have to take the laptop apart and to take off the top bezel.
Wow, a lot of information but I'm unclear as to what you are trying to do.
Are you connecting the T20 directly to the T40 using a cat5 cable and then trying to access the internet on the T20 via the modem?
Connecting the two computer together using a normal cat5 will not work, you need to use a crossover cable otherwise you are connecting the send to the send and the receive to the receive.
You can also use a hub, a switch or a router if you have any of those on hand.
As for the modem, I suggest you unplug the telephone line from the modem and plug it into a phone and see if you can hear a dial tone. If you cannot hear a tone either the extension is bad (replace) or you outlet is defective. If you can hear a tone, the modem card may be defective.
Windows XP has Drivers within the operating system to Install and setup USB Ports.
Here Are your options to Provide A Fix.
1: )The USB Port May Be Disconnected From The motherboard.
2:) The Device you are trying to Connect ( Pen-Drive ) May be faulty And Not Recognised By The Computer.
3:) The USB Cable Or Socket May Be Faulty.
Solution:- Try Connecting the Device To An Alternative ( different ) USB Socket On The PC.
Solution:- Try Connecting a Different Device to the USB Port. i.e MP3 player Or Digital Camera et,c.
Solution:- Check that the USB Header Cables ( from Motherboard To USB Ports ) Are connected Or incorrectly Connected.
