The inverse of log functions are power functions.
Inv of ln is exponential (e^x)
Inv of log in base 10 is 10^(x)
A function and its inverse usually share the same physical key. One function is accessed directly, the other by using the SHIFT or 2ndF key.

SOURCE: how do i use the inv log for calculations on my sharp el-531wh

Hello,

Let y=10^(x) 10 to the power of x
Take the log of both tems of the equality. You get
log(y)=log[10^(x)] where I used square brackets for clarity. But from the general properties of logarithms

log(b^(a)) = a*log(b)
Applied to our expression above
log(10^x)=x*log10
But since we are using log as log in base 10, log_10(10)=1
so
log(y)=x
We thus have two equivalent relations
y=10^x <----> x=log(y) The double arrow stands for equivalence.

If y is the log of x, then x is the antilog of y

Your question: With log_10 standing for logarith in base 10
pH=-log_10(c) c= concentration
Then log_10(c)=-pH the equivalence above translates as
log_10(c)=-pH is equivalent to c=10^(-pH)

The concentartion corresponding to a pH of 7.41 is
c=10^(-7.41)=3.89x10^(-8)

You enter it as follows
10[^]7.41[(-)][ENTER/=]

Hope it helps

Inverse log function

For the common antilog, use the 10^x function available as the shifted function of the log key. For example, to calculate the common antilog of 2, press SHIFT log 2 =

If you want the natural (base-e) antilog, use e^x available as the shifted function of the ln key.

How do i get inv on my TI-84 Plus caculator

To get the inverse trigonometric functions press the 2nd key then the trig function key. If you'll look at the key legends above the SIN, COS, and TAN keys you'll see the standard math notations for their inverse function.

I can not find the arc key or the INV key

The INV key that you may find on some scientific calculators has, on the TI 83/84/ Plus calculators, an equivalent key marked [2nd].

On the TI83/84 Plus, each trigonometric function has a second marking [SIN^-1], [COS^-1] or [TAN^-1]. To calculate the inverses of trigonometric functions ( arc sine, arc cosine, arc tangent) you press [2nd] followed by the relevant trigonometric function key For example, [2nd] [SIN] displays sin^-1( on the command line.

Unfortunately the hyperbolic functions and their inverses are only accessed through the CATALOG. You press [2nd][0] to open the CATALOG. Then you scroll down the CATALOG list to reach cosh(, cosh^-(, sinh(, sinh^-1(, tanh(, or tanh^-1(.
To speed the search in the catalog, you use the ALPHA keyboard: To reach cosh(, press[PRGM] and you scroll down from there.

I'm using the original TI-30 SOL calculator. Is there any way to do inverse sine or cosine?

Of course. Just press the INV key before pressing the appropriate trig function key. For example, to calculate the inverse sine, press INV then sin.

How do I find inverse sine, cosine and tangent in degrees

First, make sure the calculator is set to degrees (2nd [FORMAT] down-arrow).

Put in the value, press INV, the appropriate function key, and =.

For example, to find the inverse sine of .3, press

My casio s/c fx83ES does not have an INV button. Can you help me

I depends on what you mean by INV.
On some Chinese (AUREX, Staples) calculators the second function key is marked as INV. If that is the key you have in mind, on Casios it is the [SHIFT] key. On Sharps it is marked as [2ndF]

If you have in mind the multiplicative inverse (the reciprocal) then your calculator has such a key and it is marked [x^-1]. It the key represented on the following table at the intersection of the 2nd column and the 9th line (RECIPROCAL)

dc4ae01.jpg

If you are thinking about the inverse of functions, then know that each function shares the same physical key as its inverse. For example to access the arcsine (the function inverse of sine) you press the [SHIFT] key before [SIN]. On the calculator you will notice that near the [SIN] key and to its left there is [SIN^-1].
