Question about Promaster 60-300mm f/4-5.6 for Canon FD
I just ordered my first canon, a Rebel XT. My husband already had 2 lenses for an older canon he got from his dad and one of the lenses is a 60-300mm f/4. Is this a good zoom lense and will it fit my new canon? The other markings are Promaster Spectrum 7, Auto, Zoom, Macro. I can't find any info on it and I am new to this, thanks!
That lens have a FD mount. That means that you need to an adapter to use on a New Digital Canon Camera. The problem with the FD-EF adapter is that the it has a lens inside to correct the focal point. It's usually a very BAD glass. The 60-300 F4 will become something like a 84-420 F8. You will loose all sharpness. My opinion is DONT use FD lens on a EOS Camera.
