Xbox 360 has sound but no picture

Check the switch on the a/v cables if it has hd or standard options. If not then you have begining signs of rrod and need to try the xclamp mod.

Xbox 360 pro is not working at all. No video, no

Your console needs new heatsink paste applying to the grahics processor unit(gpu) this is basically the same as rrod repair so there are plenty of guides on how to do this, but you may have to do this every couple of months or so, the best solution is to have a professional re-flow this will be a much more durable repair if you don't want to do it yourself.
please vote if this helps.

My xbox 360 has no video or sound... No splash screen, nothing... Just a black screen.. No RROD.. I tried 3 av cables and same result.. plaese help

Probably the same problem as the RROD, just without the lights. Reflowing the CPU and GPU and replacing the thermal compound with Artic silver 5 should fix the problem.

No picture just sound.

I have two consoles that quit in 30 minutes of each other. the graphics chip is fried. go to www.xbox.com and file a repair ticket. you will get a tracking # to mail in the defective consoles.

My 360 has video but no sound. I tryed new cables

Hi, this is caused from your GPU unit becoming too warm, this has 3 types of reactions when it gets hot...it either loses video, but has sound or has video and no sound, or it severe cases it will give you the RROD. The best way to fix this is take it to a repair shop and have them replace the x-clamps and thermal compund. It is a relatively inexpensive repair to have done.

Xbox has sound when turned on but no picture, yes it's connected to the tv and I got a new cable but still the same problem

Hi, when this happens, it is because your x-clamps need replacing (same thing as if you had RROD). This is the beginning of the RROD. I personally have done at least 30(ok maybe 28) of these and not have had any of them come back. And according to the people who ive done these for the picture quality is also improved.

E74 system failure... AV cables?

Here are some steps that you can use to try to resolve the issue. 1. Turn off the console, disconnect all the cables, and then reconnect all the cables. Turn the console back on. 2. Turn off the console, and then disconnect any accessories that are connected. For example, disconnect any Xbox 360 controllers, Xbox 360 Memory Units, and the Xbox 360 Hard Drive. With the accessories disconnected, restart the console to see whether the problem still occurs. This can help you determine whether the console or an accessory is experiencing the problem.
If this doesn't work, call MS and explain all this to them. If they do not offer to fix it for free then you can try repairing it yourself or selling it and getting a new one. If you opt to repair it yourself, let me know and I will give you some advice and resources. Good luck!!

Sound with no picture

Have you looked at the side of the cable and made sure that the switch is set correctly? you have to select either HDTV of AV I believe. If that isn't the problem, try hooking it up through a different input on your television. I don't think it's your xbox because with any hardware failure, you would get the RRoD (red ring of death). I would definitely troubleshoot the TV. Try to hook up a regular DVD player in the input that your xbox is in and see if it works.
