Simply select the same pictures, one at a time and lick on protection function or select all protected pictures and hit on the protection function. Tip. Its like you select a function one and exit, it remains selected so the function works, if you select a second time, the function is un-checked.

Unlock the card.
On an SD card there is a switch at the side which can be moved to protect the card contents (locked) or permit writing to the card (unlocked). Just move this to the unlocked position.

My fujifilm finepix jx 300 says protect card even after sliding the switch on memory card to unlock

check if in the card slot is any debris. You could try to clean the contacts of the xD memory card with a dry cloth. Place the card on a flat underground and press firmly on the cloth. Don't press without a flat underground, because you could easy break the card.
It also could be some of your pictures are protected. You have to unprotect the pictures first.

I want to delete protected pictures

If the picture on the camera is protected, unprotect the picture first. In playback mode, scroll to the protected picture, then press the AE-L/AF-L button on the back of the camera.

If the memory card is protected, take the card out of the camera. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

How to unlock a photo in camara

The protect function allows a user to protect a picture from accidental deletion. To unprotect a picture on your camera, scroll to the protected picture that you want to delete, then press the Menu button (the button to the right of the Play button.) Scroll down the menu and you should come to an option that allows you to Protect/Unprotect the picture. Since your picture is currently protected, deselect that option. You should then be able to delete the picture normally.

Alternatively, you could also format the memory card, however this deletes ALL photos and data you have on the memory card. If you are trying to completely clear the memory, this is the best way. After turning on your camera, simply press the Menu button, scroll to Setup, then scroll down to Format. Select Format, it will ask you if you want to format the memory card, or the camera's built-in memory. Format whichever one you want to clear, if you are using a memory card then your pictures are stored on the memory card. It will take a few seconds to format.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

You have accidentally selected lock option. You need to select unlock option for the same. Press the menu button and then press right/left button to select the protect menu. Then you need to select unlock and that would turn off file protect.

Kindly accept the solution so that i could get the credit for my time.

Thanks and Regards

What do "write protect" mean

1. Switch to playback mode using the mode
dial. Use the Left/Right buttons to locate
and display the photo or movie that you
want to protect.
2. Select the Protect setting from the
Playback menu as described previously.
3. Use the Up/Down navigation buttons to
select One to protect this picture/video,
or select All to protect all pictures/videos in
the internal memory or memory card. Then
press the Right navigation button.
4. Use the function button to select Yes to lock
the displayed picture/video or Unlock
to unlock it, and use the Up/Down
navigation buttons to select Back to
return to the Playback menu.
5. A key icon will appear on the top of
the screen to indicate that the picture/
video is protected.
6. Select reset to cancel protection for all
files that have been placed in the protected
mode.
Also keep in mind the card it self has a write protect on it if you hold the sd in front of you label side up its on the left hand side its just a little slide tab.

HOW DO I UNLOCK PROTECTED PICTURES IN MY CAMERA

Press MENU to enter the menu. Select the SETUP menu (the wrench icon). Select Protect (the key icon). Protected pictures are indicated by a little key icon in the upper-left corner of the picture. Navigate to the protected ones and press up/down to unprotect.

Or is the entire card protected? SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

It won't take a picture. It says

Take the card out, there should be a small notch on the left hand side, move the notch to "Write Enable" or Unlock position.

If that's not the issue, you camera could have photo protect switched on. Its part of the camera menu. You'll have to search it out and turn the protect function off.
