T can be cut and capped, B goes to C (common) and W should go to W2 or E, whichever is present. X2 may be used in multistage heat strips if memory serves, cutting and capping it should be safe but changes in the wiring inside of the air handler may be required to accommodate this thermostat. If you like you can try connecting W and X2 (presumably white and black wires) both to the W2/E on the new thermostat but I would recommend checking the wiring inside of the air handler first. The rest of the terminals should be labeled the same.
Sad to say but you have bought an non compatible thermostat, what you need is a thermostat that has "Heat Pump" somewhere on the package, Honeywell makes those also in the same models, sometimes they can be tricky if your not looking. It should also say 2heat, 1cool too. Hope this helps and good luck!
First of all put back the jumper wire you remved Rc to Rh and also put the red wire to either one then the white to W, the green to G and the yellow to Y .That is for the thermostat wiring for a not heat pump outdoor unit.Remember this electronic thermostat has a time delay so the unit will take a few minutes to start.All this if the problem is the thermostat.But also when nothing works it could be that the drain line is clogh and some air handlers have a flood switch who shut the unit off if drain is clogh(it could be located in the drain line out of the air handler or inside it on the drain pan.) newer TRANE units have it inside.
use the outside designations for heat pump, and inside for standard, I would assume a heat pump since you have more than five wires attached to it now. Use the colors of the wire to match to the designations, use tan for y2, black for w2 rc and rh should already have a factory jumper. I would have to trace out the "U" and see where it terminates, I have not seen a bare wire on a stat in 27 years of doing this. before powering, verify the tan and black at the indoor unit circuit board and see if they are landed on the terminals designated at the stat. hope this helps
your trane heat pump energizes the reversing valve with O - orange y - is to turn on the unit make sure you have your orange wire hooked up and the tstat programming set to heatpump otherwise your reversing valve might be bad
99.99% of the modern residential units use only one transformer to power the 24 volts for both the furnace and the a/c unit. It will be located in the furnace. The outdoor unit will not have its own transformer unless its reeallllly old. Place a small jumper wire between w1 & w2 terminals on the thermostat. (The lux brand is not the professionals choice) (if you have problems replace with a honeywell or white rodgers brand).
you cant use this thermostat . you have a trane 2 stage heatpump the hunter thermostat is made for a one stage heatpump ...if this answer helped please rate this 3 or 4 stars , this will keep me in the paid answer department
