Question about Whirlpool Ultimate Care II LSQ9549L Top Load Washer
Whirlpool LBT6133AWO CC4104141 Everything works except the agitator post. THe agitator in the bottom of the tub works, but the agitator arm is so loose that it doesn't move and therefore the clothes aren't moved through the water during the wash cycle. The spin cycle works, it is just the wash cycle.
We just washed a huge down comforter, could we have done something to the agitator - moved it off of a locked position?
My washer is not a calypso but I am having somewhat of the same problem!! The agitater is loose and when it gets to the spin cycle it just stops and wont go any further!! The model # is LS09110PW1. The only steps I have taken to resolve the problem are taking the soaking wet clothes out and scooped all of the water out of the machine!! Messy! Any help is appreciated, Thanks
Sounds like what you have is a dual agitator, bottom moves back and forth in wash, top acts like a screw pulling clothes down to the bottom of the tub. If so, the agitator dogs are bad, to get to them, pop off the cap on top of the agitator, then reach down inside and pull up a cap in there, then use a socket (I forget the size) and a long extension to unbolt the agitator and pull it out, the dogs are located between the top and bottom sections. They are slightly curved rubbery plastic pieces, 4 total. About an 1 1/2" or so long, one end fits into a hole on the inner part of the agitator and the other end is ribbed to catch the outer part of the agitator during the wash stroke.

Thanks! Removed the fabric softener dispenser, then the plastic cap with the raised plastic strip, inside the post by reaching in and twisting until the o-ring seal becomes free, then removed the bolt using a 7/16" socket with a long extension. Walked in the washer supply store with the whole module that holds the dogs and the man at the counter saw it in my hand, reached under the counter, laid the 4 plastic dogs on the counter without me saying a word and said "that all you need?" think they sell a lot of them? part number fsp-80040. repaired in 40 min.s including the 5 mile trip to the parts store!

This worked perfectly! Only problem I had was separating the agitator pieces so I could get to the dawgs in the inner part. I finally held down the bottom part with my feet and pulled up on the top of the agitator which separated the two pieces. The dawgs cost $7.99 and it took no time at all to change them out.
