I know that a couple of you have had the same problem with the blowing 0.47 ohm resistors. I had responded quite a wile back, but forgot to make any updates. Kostiko is correct about the problem relating to these two 0.47 ohm resistors being blown. In my case on two different Haman Kardon models, this was true, but there could also be another issue. What i have found is even after replacing these resistors, the problem appeared to still be there. What was happening was that right after turning the receiver on, the resistors would blow again. What you need to do is replace the two small ceramic disc style capacitors on the same pcb as the fusible resistors, as they could be shorted as in my case. You could remove these capacitors completely, or replace them with a similar size of the same type, as they are really just there for filtering higher frequency noises from the power supply. You can check them with your multimeter first. They shouldn't shorted even in situe. I forget the size, but they are approximately 100 nano farads. Good luck. I have done this to my AVR135, and it has been running great for about 6 months now.
Actually, the aux. power suppy is defective. There are two 0.47 ohms resistors which are located on the main transformer output board, which are blown. The result is missing +/- 15V for the analog ICs. Replace those and the problem is solved.
This may sound crazy but i had similar issues with my 120...one thing is that there is not enough power getting to the system or there was a surge that may have blown the channels. I had a surge that blew my channels and luckily i took it to circuit city and they fixed it for free. If it is indeed the channels than i would just take it to a repair person.

Before you reset, are you doing this because the amp went in to some sort of protection mode?
Resetting will allow the amp to redo the self diagnosis. But if the problem remains then the amp will shut down again. Resetting doesn't fix things like bad wiring or blown output transistors. So only reset once you are sure you've checked through the system for any problems.
As a safety measure, disconnect your speakers before doing the reset. If the amp goes in to protection again then it is an indication that there are either shorted speaker outputs inside the unit.
Unplug the unit from AC power for 30 minutes, and disconnect all of the speakers and other associated equipment. Upon plugging back in, press and hold the power button at the same time for 5-10 seconds to force a hard reset.
If the unit starts up normally start connecting the speakers one at a time (shutting the power down before connecting each one), until one of the speakers causes the receiver to shut down. This speaker is faulty and would need to be replaced.
If the unit does not power up with NO speakers connected, then it needs the output transistors replaced inside the unit. These directly drive the loudspeaker outputs on the receiver itself, and one or more of them being shorted (closed circuit), will trigger the error on the display of the receiver, and it will not go off until the problem is repaired. They are not user-replaceable as they are PCB mounted, and thermally coupled to a heatsink. In this case, the unit is in need of service.
Do you know what caused the protection shut down in the first place? Did you short your speaker wires even briefly?
You could try to Unplug the Unit for Few Minutes, say 30 minutes and then turn it back ON.Usually that would fix the issue.
If you are going into protect mode with no speaker attached,chances are that your output Ic is in need of replacement .This is the most likely cause of a protection error that you are experiencing.I am having a bit of difficulty in locating specific part numbers but feel confident that replacing outputs will remedy your concern.For further info and parts or authorized service locations in your area I suggest to contact mfg at www.usa.denon.com/ .Click on support or call(201)762-6500.I believe that they have a flat rate service and will give you an estimate.
Still, on the remote possibility that it is just a glitch caused by momentary power interruption or fluctuation, try to re-initialize the microprocessor, a hard reset (not unless this is what you were referring to as rebooted). The reset should force the AVR-3300 to revert back to factory defaults removing glitches, errors in settings & configurations, memory & presets as well as user preferences.

Should the above be not corrective, then it would be a hardware fault and not just a glitch.
If the speakers themselves work fine, then the problem lies within the amplifier output. The channels can go bad after hard use, they can be repaired but it may well exceed the cost of the amp if it is not just one channel. Also be sure that you are hooking up speakers that are rated for your amplifier by matching the OHM resistance of the amplifier to compatible speakers.
The internal audio amplifier is most likely dead, as it drives all speakers and the headphone output. If this is still under warranty, I would go that route. If not, it may be cheaper to buy a new receiver. Parts and labor can be expensive...you will have to take it to an electronics repair shop for an estimate.
The main issue is to determine where the distortion is coming from. Does it start in the front and and get amplified or does it appear in the output section only? This will require a fixed signal and an oscilloscope to trace. Check for leaky coupling caps or leaky transistors in at the diff-amp section.
could be your receiver only, it has tripped due to discrepancy on the output stage of your amp. that cracking sound in one of your speakers could have caused the trouble. it is possibly shorted. but in your case it could have damaged already the amp that;s why it would not turn on. normally it will first trip, turn on then turns off. but to stay off and not to turn on again is major problem of the amp. or maybe it emanated from miscabling, probably the ceiling speakers got connected to a high output or main amp. but try removing all speakers first then turn the unit on. see if it does power up.
