1. Remove two 7mm hex screws on display panel cover (top, underneith)

2. Put on parking brake, engage key (do not start), move PRNDL lever to L to get out of way.

3. Pull the bottom part of display cover straight toward you (there are 2 clips, one on either side of the steering wheel behind the display assembly cover that will snap free - takes a little force - Do one side at a time) Remove and set aside. This reveals the four display unit screws.

4. Remove the four 7mm screws on the actual display panel. (fyi: all screws in this project are the same headsize, threadsize, and length)

4. Tilt top of display panel toward you and remove the three top connectors (they come out easily and are in a cable harness so you can't put them back wrong) You will need to squeeze the middle gently, unlocking connector and pull)

5. Pull out display - which includes "glass" covering - this never gets removed! (adjust steering wheel to lowest position if needed)

6. On the rear of the panel you will see several (little grey) knobs. Find the one right behind the odometer and using a pliers, twist counter clockwise 1/4 turn and remove. The little light bulb is encased in these little knobs and is included as a one-piece replacement for the $1.50 to $4 bucks.

7. Replace bulb assembly by inserting the bulb and turning clockwise 1/4 turn.

8. Assemble following reverse instruction of above.

IPhone 4 screen replace

Replacing the screen on an iPhone is a difficult job. The digitizer and LCD are fused together as one unit and must be replaced together. You basically have to disassemble the entire guts of the phone from the back before you can get to the screws holding the display on the front.

Depending on whether you have the GSM (AT&T) model A1332 or the CDMA (Verizon, Sprint) model A1349, the procedures are slightly different. ifixit.com has a very good set of instructions with photos detailing each step for both phones.

GSM iPhone 4 instructions

The part that gives people the most trouble is getting the two cables fed through the case correctly and connected, so pay extra attention when doing that part. It's very easy to pinch the cables and either break them or end up with them too short to reach the connectors on the motherboard. There's a corner on the flex cable that gets caught when feeding it through the hole, and you have to make sure to move the display side to side to make sure you get past that corner.

Can't find a manual online. What does 5/4 mean, and how do I turn it off? Same for E. My biggest problem is that when I add up numbers with the print function on (for depositing large batches of...

The manual for the Canon P1-DHV is online at http://www.usa.canon.com/app/pdf/calculator/P1-DHV_G_USA_HWB.pdf>.
When the display shows "5/4", the calculator is doing 5/4 rounding which means: 5 or above round up, 4 or below round down. To control rounding press the "5/4" key.
When the display shows "E" the calculator could not complete a calculation. It can be because of dividing by 0, or because the total exceeded 1 trillion, or because the operator entered calculations faster than the calculator could complete them. Press the CI/C key to clear it.
I can't explain why you are not getting a total on the tape. Try the following example from the manual exactly as shown, and let me know if your tape shows the total.
  1. Clear the calculator (press [CI/C])
  2. Choose 5/4 rounding (press [5/4] until "5/4" displays)
  3. Choose add mode (press [DEC] until "A" displays)
  4. Choose cost-sell-margin mode (press [B-T] until "B" displays)
  5. Turn printer on (press [PRINT] until "PRINT" displays)
  6. To calculate: $12.55 + $15.75 - $5.30
  7. Key in: 1255 [+] 1575 [-] 530 [=]
  8. Tape shows: [0. C] ... [12.55 +] ... [15.75 -] ... [5.30 =] ... [23.00 *]
