Question about Siemens 24 in. SE64A630GB Built-In Dishwasher

1 Answer

Siemens SE64A630 GB I got a tingle up my arm when holding the dishwasher and touching my sink. I checked and when the dishwasher is plugged in, there is 24VAC between the dishwasher door and the stainless steel sink. I suspect a fault! Any ideas please?

Would that be the earth connection within the socket that the appliance plugs into or within the appliance please? I suspect within the socket. I think I'll need to get a socket tester. Many thanks for your help.

I would say it is an earthing problem, check over your earth wires, normally black and grey is neutral, check to make sure your earth wires are connected properly, and tight, better to completely turn appliance off by disconecting power plug while doing this, take care not to play around with the wires too much to prevent a nasty electric shock

Error code E:14 Siemens Dishwasher - stops after 1 min of cycle

It might be helpful if you provide the full model number of the Siemens dishwasher. Most likely E14 error has something to do with water flow sensing. Check if your mains water pressure is ok (tap under sink is fully open). But can provide more details only if you can tell me the model number.

The dishwasher arm on the top is not spinning so the dishes are not getting clean.

The arms on a dishwasher spin with water pressure remove your arm and thouroughly clean and flush through , also check for wear on the arm bushes to see if there is excessive wear , the washers may need to be changed. Check the supply hole to the top arm to make sure it is not blocked.

The detergent door on the Jenair dishwasher opens but the detergent stays in the cup

Hello.

Two things come to mind:
1. Check the spray arms for pluggage, particularly at the tips. If the spray arms are plugged up, they can prevent the detergent from being dispensed. The easiest way that I know of to remove debris from the spray arms is to remove the arm and use a piece of wire (paper clip) to rake out the debris in the tips, and poke holes of the plugged nozzles, then wash the arms out over the sink.
2. Get the water in the sink as hot as possible just before starting the washer. The hotter water will help dispense the soap more readily, and help to clean the dishes better.

Dishes do not get fullyl clean on top rack

Check your spray arms for pluggage. Soft food can get recirculated and plug the holes and slots up. Remove the arm, and clean it out. Back washing it with the sink faucet works pretty well, and stubborn plugs can be dislodged with a toothpick.

Slight tingle when I touch case. Noted that it only uses a 2 pin plug

This is wrong, and could be dangerous. It could be caused by a faulty device, or by faulty wiring. You owe it to yourself and your family to check. I suggest you purchase an outlet tester (or ask around your friends, someone might have one) which looks something like this:
andythechikn.jpg
Plug it in to the outlet and ensure that both orange lights come on, but not the red one. While you're about it, check every outlet in the house... it's worth it.

Any outlet that doesn't give you two orange lights only, don't use it until it's fixed.

If the outlet you've observed the tingle problem on is good - quarantine the item instead! Have it checked, and/or replace the power unit for it. Use the tester to validate the tingle... hold the tester in your hand and curl one finger round to touch one of the short pins; now hold it to the item and touch the long ground pin to the case where you felt the tingle. If one of the lights glows, that's potentially lethal and you have to stop using it in case someone gets hurt.

Dishwasher isn't draining

Shut off the power to the dishwasher. Remove the strainer under the bottom spray arm. You will need to unscrew the cap, remove arm and clips that hold strainer. Clean well with a brush, soap and water, then replace it.
If that doesn't help, you may have to pull the dishwasher and check the drain hose for kinks. Disconnect the hose on both ends and flush out at the sink-or replace it.

Replaced the main (bottom) spray arm. Now there is no electrical power at the control panel. Is there a power cutoff if the spray arm isn't connected?

no! something else is wrong. check th plug under the sink. You might want to plug something else in where the dishwasher plugs in ie. a lamp or something to make sure the outlet is working properly.

Lower spray arm siemens aquastop dishwasher doesn't rotate

Sprayers require water to pass through the jets to provide motion to the arms.

Suggestion;

Remove the sprayer from the machine and look for blockages. (Removal should be easy, at it is expected that the user will need to clean the jets occasionally; If you have any problems removing it, consult your manual).

Dish washer not draining

hi

If dirty water spews from the air gap, the drain line is kinked or clogged. Note: If you've recently installed a garbage disposal, be sure the knockout plug for the dishwasher was removed when the connection was made

1) Remove the cover from the air gap at the top of the sink (usually a short chrome domed cylinder that sits at the back of the sink), and, using a wire, clean it. Also check the entire length of the drain hose for kinks and blockages, especially at the drain connection to the disposer or drain line.

2) Once the dishwasher is cool, shut off the power to it, and—if your dishwasher is made to allow this—remove the strainer, located under the bottom spray arm at the base of the cabinet (see illustration). Unscrew the hubcap, lift the spray arm off, and remove any clips that hold the strainer to get it out. Scrub it clean with a brush, and then replace it.

3) Determine whether the sink trap or house drain line is clogged.

4) If the dishwasher still doesn't drain properly, the drain hose may be clogged or the drain valve may need replacement. At this point, it's usually best to call a repairperson. You can check the drain hose for obstructions, but this sometimes involves pulling the dishwasher out from under your counter to access the hose, disconnecting the hose at both ends, and flushing it out with a faucet or garden hose.

Hope this helps
