Make movie keeps timing out, render error

I am trying to convert my pinnacle file into a movie but it keeps timing out half way through and telling me I have a render error. I have tried in the AVI format, mpeg 1, 2 and 4 and as a flash file. The movie is quite large - about 2-3gb and needs to be of high qaulity when it is finnished as it will be further compressed.

I have tried saving the file and the render files directly to my hard drive as well as to a 1000gb external hard drive. Nothing works.

I broke the video up into smaller 30min videos which seemed to complete the project, but then when I tried to play back on Windows Media 14mins into the damn video it gave me an error saying windows did not support the programme used to make the video???

I am using Pinnacle Studio Plus 12 and Vista as an operating system.

Please help

I have also been running into an MPEGENCODER.DLL error about 1/2 way through my 20 minute movie. I am able to Make Movie with a 6 minute version, but hitting this error time and time again. I have removed Virus protection and all unessential system tray loads; defragged drive; downloaded newest Windows drivers; downloaded newest NVIDIA drivers; running Win XP Pro SP3, Intel 3GHZ, 1GB RAM, 76GB/10K spin drive.

I am getting the Export failure (render error) 0/3518@00:00:00 just trying to export my movie on pinnacle 14. can you help?

I had this error too. I homed in on the error by putting markers along the timeline (using the M key) and then trying to render between different markers (e.g. between begining and 01 works, but beginning and 02 fails, therefore issue is between 01 and 02). I eventually found the problem was having a stabilise effect combined with a cross fade. Removing the stabilise effect fixed it. It's annoying that the error message (at frame 0) was not where the problem was. Note that copying and pasting the entire timeline didn't work for me. Good luck with this

Export:error:real time c:\users\owner\appdata\local\microsfolder\render\my movie 848e009f\alternate\render\my movie 848e009f\dvd\studiosequence\temp' Help - what does this mean? What should I do?

Hi and Welcome,

If you are experiencing Export Errors using Studio, the following FAQ should help:
1. UPDATE TO THE LATEST PATCH:

Click here for the latest Studio 12 patch
There is no patch available at this time for Studio 14
2. ENSURE BACKGROUND RENDERING COMPLETES:

Allow the green bars that appear over clips that have had filters, transitions or other effects added to complete before going to the Make Movie stage.

3. ALWAYS REINCODE ENTIRE MOVIE

If after installing the latest version of Studio, the Export Error persists and you are attempting to create a DVD, then in Studio click on the Setup pull-down menu and select Make Disc. On the top portion of the Make Disc tab make sure there is a check in the box for the setting "Always re-encode entire movie", then click the OK button. Create the DVD again.

4. DELETE AUXILIARY FILES

Delete the auxiliary files before rendering. To do this, go to File >> Delete Auxiliary Files. This will bring up a window to chose which auxiliary files will be deleted. Select the option to delete the files for the current project. Once this is done, try to output the project.

I don't know what you mean by 'when I try to render'...what are you doing?
Pinnacle 14 Ultimate Collection renders the clips you place on the time-line automatically, you just have to wait foreverrrr..
(If the bar above the clips on the timeline is light-green, it means the file isn't rendered yet. If the bar is orange, it is fully rendered. The light green bar will turn to dark green as Pinnacle renders the file, then change to orange when its done.
*Pinnacle can NOT render clips while you are playing your video.)
P.S Whenever you add a transition, effect, montage, title, or otherwise change ANYTHING about a clip/picture, pinnacle will take its sweet time rendering the ENTIRE clip/picture all over again...

Hi

In pinnacle studio as the movie is being rendered, the cursor moves along with it, this way you can find out at what point in the rendering process, the program stopped.

when you get the Pinnacle 14 Export Error; Real Time at some frame, then you know that, that frame may be damaged, so cut a few frames before and after where the cursor stopped, and try again.

if the rendering process stops a few times during the compilation, keep cutting those pieces and try again.

i hope that helps
Thanks
Jason

No sound in one, corrupted file in another

You can reinstall version 7. Make sure you uninstall version 7 first and remove all of the folder associated with Studio.

It should be upgraded to the new version. Rendering issues are a lot better in versions 11 from version 7
