Will not let the water down on to the floor.

Water will not dispense out of the tank. Everything else works like a charm but it refuses to let the water down on to the floor.

It seems to be a common problem with this series of floormate... some home quickfixes (a hassle, i kno) but put downward pressure while using the solution.... Check your warranty that came with it, and how long you purchased the floormate... Alot of vaccuums come with 30-90 warranties, I'd recommend having it checked out. That, or if u bought it recent enough, take it back... like i said, these models are unfortunately known to have this problem... Some people have ones that operate normally, but alot do not. >.<

Bissell proheat tank-in-tank doesn't seat properly. I took everything apart to check lines for build-up because my soap dispenser wasn't working either, I also tried another solution and cleaned...

Similar problem still looking for a solution...
I observe that if I press down firmly on the clean tank while pulling the trigger, that it dispenses the correct volume of solution, but that's an awkward action to do while also doing the wet runs back and forth.

The water is not coming out to clean the floor

Your unit uses water, correct? I have a Proheat 2X and it wouldn't dispense water. I tried the Water Rinse setting and found water came out and was suctioned properly, but on the Light Clean, Normal Clean, and Heavy Traffic settings, the unit failed to do anything. Problem may be with leaving the soap dispenser in-place, which might scum up the tubing.

SO, an alternative to throwing out my unit and buying somethign else was to put one capful of the Bissell soap in the water resevoir and keep the unit on Water Rinse. IT WORKS BEAUTIFULLY NOW. Don't know if this will help, but at least I didn't have to buy a new unit. Rinse everything after using and there's been no problem.

Water won't come out

Hi there SmartAlec from nelsonvacuums.com.au here. I think that the likely solution for the problem is that the water tank is slightly warped and so will not seal properly. Normally this is caused by using hot water in the tank. It should still be covered under warranty though just take it back to the dealer and get them to check it.

Every time i push the steam vac forward it dispenses water

you are having the same problem i am and so far the best solution i have found is i need a new clean tank just got my steamvac today bought it cheap so not complaining much the other solution i found was to only have the cleaning solution tank in for as long as i need it if i put the cleaning solution on the floor then take out the clean tank the dirt tank still sucks up the water

Godbless and Goodluck ...by the way just in case you dont have it here is the manual for your model

HOOVER STEAM CLEANER PROBLEM

The soap dispenser is supposed to be attched to the water tank. That grey piece, if it is round with 2 small ears on it is the metering plate, it controls the flow of water. It sits on the table that the tank sits on, insert it into the hole and turn to lock it in place.

Have a hoover steam cleaner F5837-900 model

First off, check the dirty water tank, check the round filter on the bottom of the lid to make sure there is a gap and pushed all of the way up, then make sure that the lid is locked onto the tank. Check the bottom of the tank, push in the plunge to make sure water comes out freely. There is a round seal where the water tank sits, make sure it is ok. There is a diapham that the tank sits on could be bad, or the tube running down the inside of the handle is crimped. Could have a bad pump. but they don't go bad very often.
