Question about Kenmore Refrigerators

Popping sound from the doors when open and close

I have Kenmore, side by side. The doors were taken off to be transported. After re-installing the doors, there is a popping sound coming off the fridge door. Sort of like a broken joint...

Thanks
Sasha

We have a side by side refrigerator freezer ED5FHEXNZ00. When we open or close door of refrigerator it is binding and makes a "popping" or "snapping" noise. How can we correct this?

This sounds like the door gasket is not sliding across the door facing like it should. Try using a silicone spray or WD40 on the door facing where and the gasket meet. This should help it slide better.

Driver side door making a popping noise when opening or closing. Lubed the hinge but it kind of sounds like it's coming from inside the panel

Check spacing between the front of the door and the
fender. The door could be pinching the fender when you open and close it. Hope this helps.

Whirlpool refrigerator side x side doors make a popping noise if opened past halfway... model GS5SHAXNL00

The door closing cams were worn on both doors. I had to buy a cam kit that cost about $10.00 and had the parts for both doors in it, take off the doors, and replace the cams. Before taking off the door that has an ice and water dispenser, I had to turn off the water to the fridge, take off the front grill, and disconnect the water tube that goes into the door (as the tube is threaded through the door cam). After replacing the door closing cams and reassembling, there is no longer a popping sound.

Right Door is making loud popping noise

After reading these posts, I fixed my refrigerator door in less than 5 minutes. The little black plastic cam on the bottom hinge was loose. To fix it, take the hinge cover off of the top with an 8mm socket, and remove the three 8mm screws holding the top hinge on. Remove the door by lifting up off of the bottom hinge and set it aside. On the bottom hinge is a black plastic cam held on by an 8mm screw. The screw on mine was really loose. Tightening it and putting the door back on made it work like new. You probably don't have a bad cam, just a loose one.

Freezer Door Popping Open

Look at the bottom of the freezer door, there is a little plastic stopper there. It may be worn out or broken. When you close the door this is what holds it there. Start there first.
