Question about HP 417035-001 - HP Pavilion dv2000 Series Laptop Full Featured Intel Chipset Motherboard
No display; even tried external LCD display. No beeps, no spinning hard drive sounds - but there are CD and fan noises. Battery and AC adapter are ok.
Tried booting from live disk, no joy. Maybe mobo bad?
It could be dead mobo, it's actually the most probable cause of your problem, but there is this thing i've encountered with HP several times already. i know it's a long shot, but i'd like you to try and boot the laptop up after you've removed the DVD-drive. if this works, it's the DVD-drive that's broken, if not, it'll be the mobo...
