Where do I start computer upgrade

Your machine is very short of power required for win 10, I would like to see at least 8 GB ram, and a faster processor, yours is at the bottom of tests. Perhaps you should look at a new machine with win 10 installed. You cannot upgrade xp to win 10. You will have to purchase a win 10 license, you missed the free upgrade period.

If a install faster processor in my emachines t2954 would my desktop work faster

Max out the memory and upgrade the processor....

Sure.....but that is only a job for an experienced PC tech.

The worst part is after spending all that money for upgrades, you could have purchased a new PC with a warranty.

It's your choice.

I want to uprade the memory of my toshiba satellite a135-s4656 to 512mb ddr2 to 2gb ddr2 to to another brand it is possible..and it will run smooth and faster

You can definitely upgrade the memory on your laptop! Upon doing a little research on your model No., I've found you are able to upgrade to 2GB PC4200 533 Mhz DDR2. THIS SITE always comes in handy when upgrading. I've already located the correct chips for your PC, all you have to do now is order them up. Once upgraded you will notice a significant improvement in your machines performance.
  • Your computer will boot much more quickly,
  • programs will start and run much faster and smoother,
  • videos will load and run the same,
  • you will also be able to have many more windows open at one time if multi-tasking is your thing.
Hope this helps, please rate

NO you cannot, on that same computer, no matter what OS, because, you MUST change your central Processing Unit, CPU. To allow Windows 7 to work correctly.

NEED A STEP BY STEP GUIDE ON UPGRADING

Upgrading the computer to the faster CPU, memory, hard disk, can be possible. First find out the motherboard supports higher CPU already , then find the right CPU for the upgrade,. Maximum memory that can be added in the comuter and type of memory supported by the motherboard. If you need more capacity for Hard disk get high capacity harddisk that the computer support. More important is make sure that the upgrade doesn't require to buy new operating system. Most upgrades are not cheper than purchasing new system considering all above needs. If you require to upgrade to more and latest system than it is better to buy a new system including operating system. The operating system may not support considerable difference in the computer system for upgrades.

Which processor can I upgrade to?

Honestly, it is normally not worth it to upgrade the cpu on a laptop. Laptops are build to deal with a certain amount of heat and adding a faster cpu can cause the current cpu cooling fans to not get the job done anymore. You will seem instability in your system and could possibly damage it due to over heating.

With that said you would only be able to upgrade to a very slightly higher speed cpu and your money would be better spent else where. Some good ways to speed up a laptop are max out your memory or install a faster hard drive. For example if your current drive is a stock 5400rpm unit a 7200rpm drive would give you a nice boost. You could also look into a solid state option.

Both these upgrades will give your laptop a better boost without the hassle and risk of a cpu upgrade.

Hi I want to upgrade toshiba SATL3001FI T3400 processor to T7500 Processor. Is that possible Thanks Kurt Andersson

You can't upgrade processors in laptops due to Voltage issues, with the exception of some of the newer AlienWare Laptops. So, no it wouldn't be possible. See, slower processors require less power, to put it into simple terms, and newer, faster processors require more power. While most laptops are sold with their BIOS locked, unabling the user change to any BIOS settings.

I want to upgrade my procesor to faster procesor.

Upgrading processor is not likely a practical solution; find out the motherboard manufacturer and contact their site for more information. As to upgrading the motherboard, you'll have to know what kind/size of board your system will require. If you don't have lots of experience, this process is very risky.

Frankly, the cheapest way to upgrade your computer is to buy a used and working product with Windows XP already installed. Go to http://craigslist.com, select your city, and search for a brand name you trust. I've bought DOZENS of used computers very cheap that way (I'm writing this on a $2,200 Dell Latitude D620 I bought fiv months old for $500, who needed the cash!)
