Question about HP LaserJet 1100 Printer

HP Laserjet 1100

The print is fuzzy on my HP Laserjet 1100. I have replaced the toner cartridge and this did not solve the problem. It's as if the toner isn't fully fusing to the page.

Re: HP Laserjet 1100

Had the same problem with my HP 1100 printer. It was a faulty laser unit. Replaced the laser unit and the printer was fine.

Toner cartridge memory counts how many print outs passing through it, once memory sensed yield count crossed, printer will say that "low toner" , after couple of prints it will says to "replace the cartridge". If you refilled this cartridge with out replacing the memory printer will treats its old cartridge only.. Replacing the memory will solves your problem.

HP Laserjet P2015 serires Could you advise me on how to get rid of a black line appearing down the centre of the page when I print please? Thank you.

Dirty print out is basically due to cartridge related issues. HP Laserjet P2015 uses HP53A Cartridge.Take out the cartridge and inspect it under torch light. You would notice the line(s) on the green drum. Gently clean its drum/ (green roller) with a dry, soft, lint-free cloth. The drum is located under a cover which can slide with a little push. Checkout for any spilled toner inside the printer and clean it also. Print a few pages so that the parts get further cleaned. I think, this would solve the issue.
Please note that, this step may help temporarily, if the cartridge and its parts are worn out. In that case it is always better to replace the toner cartridge.

Moreover, streaks (thicker lines) and dots etc indicate faulty PCR Roller which is located just behind the green drum inside the cartridge. Try to clean it too. It requires a bit of improvisation because it is difficult to clean it fully. If the problem persists, replace the toner cartridge with a genuine one or get the PCR Roller changed by a professional. If the cartridge is old

Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.

Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya!

How do I load ink and toner in hp laserjet 1100

By load the toner, if you mean inserting the toner cartridge. Then i will give you instructions. In laser toner printer, there is toner cartridge, and not ink jet cartridge. In laser toner cartridges, there is a black color toner power and it does have any liquid ink, which ink jet cartridges have.To remove the laser toner cartridge from hp laser jet 1100 printer, its simple. The front door open and old toner cartridge comes out.Just pull the front door towards you. While inserting cartridge. If you have problem, then take note that, sticker side of the cartridge is towards you.On the cartridge there is a rectangle flap, which you hold in your hand. This is meant for holding the cartridge, while removing and inserting cartridge. The stick side will be in your side. There is a green color drum, the drum side will be on opposite site.-------------- Still any problem.Keep updated. But i think that will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

My laserjet printer started making load noises and no longer prints-the last thing printed only printed the top 3inches and then was all black, it then stopped working altogether

Use the following checklist to ensure that the print cartridge is still operable:
  • Ensure that the print cartridge is seated properly.
  • Inspect the print cartridge for remaining toner.
  • Check the expiration date stamped on the print cartridge box.
  • Check the print cartridge to see if it has been disassembled or refilled.
  • Inspect the print cartridge to see if toner is leaking through worn seals.
  • Check the surface of the photosensitive drum in the print cartridge to see if it has been damaged or scratched. Touching the drum contaminates the photosensitive surface and can cause spotting and image defects.
  • Blurred areas on printed pages indicate that the photosensitive drum in the print cartridge has been overexposed to light. Because overexposure to light causes permanent damage to the photosensitive drum, the cartridge should be replaced.

The HP LaserJet 1100 series printer cannot print to the edge of the paper, to get the image to fit into this printable area, slightly reduce the size of the image.

try this and let me know, also check the status of the toner.

My hp laserjet 1100 prints but when it does there is a vertical area on the page that doesn't print. What is the problem?

The toner maybe low and not putting enough toner powder onto the drum.
Remove the toner cartridge and give it a shake, make sure the cartridge is shaken in a level position. Replace the cartridge and do a test print.
If it is still a problem then the photo drum in the toner cartridge is probably faulty, then you need a new toner cartridge/drum.

Replacing an ink cartridge

You need to completely remove the plastic strip in order to use the cartridge. That releases the toner to allow printing. It's there to keep the toner from escaping during shipping.
