No video from any input. No menus on screen. Sound comes through fine on internal speakers. Looks like only the display component is not working.

How do you get audio to play through a receiver? We have the TV running to input on receiver and no sound?!?!

You have to go thru the menus on the TV and tell it you want TV speakers off, and output to surround at fixed volume. Then plug audio out wires (RCA jacks or optical digital wire) from audio outs on TV to AUX or Video or something like that into the receiver.

Coby 40 LCD TV has splash screen and sound, but no picture

Looks like you might have issues with your screen it self the lights and all internal issues. You might have to take into a repair shop to get it done, a fuse might have been blown up. If you have warranty try to take it in and get it fixed.

Vertical black and white bars on lcd screen

I'm not too familiar with the LG brand, but if the onscreen stuff looks fine (Volume, menus, etc.) then the panel is OK. Try a picture source other than the one you are using now (Tuner, HDMI, VGA, etc.)

1) If it's the same across all of them, then you will need to replace the main board in the TV.

2a) If it only affects one input, it could either be your video source that is bad (which means TV is OK), or
2b) that certain input port on TV is bad, which would mean you either don't use that input any more, or you replace the main board in the TV.

Jvc kw avx820 no sound

Check the speaker connections it looks like there may be a feedback signal going back to the internal amp. If those are fine then the amp itself is clipping and you need to have the player checked.

The receiver was working fine then all of the sudden it wouldn't play any music or make any sound, and now it turns on but nothing will come out of the speakers. I tested the speakers they are fine. Also...

A make and model would make this easier.

How did you test the speakers? Using the receiver?

Check your input selection very carefully, look for MUTE or a Tape unintentionally selected.

Only 2ch sound on sony strde898

I understand that you have tried connecting different audio source to the Receiver as some of the audio source will output only 2 channel audio. I hope you have tried changing the Input mode and Input selector to get the surround sound.
Please disconnect the speakers with the receiver and clean the edges of receiver and speaker cables using solution like alcohol and try.
If the issue persists, please interchange the rear speakers with front speakers and vice versa and check if audio is coming to make sure that the speakers are working fine.
If the audio comes after replacing the speakers but not from surround speakers, the receiver requires service.

XBox 360 to Reciever to TV via HDMI no sound

I recently got the same receiver and had the same problem. Here's what I was told - and it worked for me:

Even though HDMI cables carry audio and video, for whatever reason this reciever won't accept audio through hdmi. Apparently only much more expensive recievers carry audio through hdmi. What you have to do is run optical audio cables from your xbox, cable box, dvd player or other video device to the optical inputs on the back of the reciver. Then you customize the scene buttons to match your video and audio inputs.

You can get these optical cables pretty cheap on line or even at target. Don't get ripped off by Best Buy for these cables. I love best buy, but they rip off on cables!

This receiver is great - once I got it all figured out and running right I've loved it! Hope everything works out for you!

No sound

Look in the menus for a setting to turn the speakers on and off. Make sure there isn't a switch on the back to turn off the internal speakers.
