Question about Canon (6981A002AA) for imagerunner 2200, 2800, 3300 Print Server
I added a print server to the parallel port of the copier, loaded the driver
iR2200_3300-PPD_1.81_Windows on the xp computer and added it as a local printer with ip address 192.168.1.215. tried to ping it and was successful. Tried to print a test page, it acted like it printed on the computer but when I went over to the 2200 is said receiving printing and data/process light flashed green...it never printed. I had to power off the print server and power it back on.
what should I do? Are there settings on the 2200 to change?
You installed a Network Multi-PDL Printer Kit C1 (N Boot Rom and NIC aka ethernet port)? This error you have is almost certainly a result of not upgrading the system software on the copier properly. The copier needs to have special firmware loaded to enable it to be used as a printer.
Go into Service Mode (Additional Functions [button has * on it] > 2 then 8 > Additional Functions). Go into Copier > Display > Version. If you have N BOOT ROM (required for printing) should have N at the end of number for BOOT-ROM. For printing need number for PS/PCL. I suspect you don't have a number for this.
You need SST, N system software for 2200 and either a nethawk cable (special canon usb to parallel cable and only one that works with Service Support Tool) or a computer (preferably running XP) with a parallel port and a IEEE1284 bi-directional parallel cable (kind of parallel cable that was commonly used with scanners, don't just try any parallel cable)
If you're not a tech you're going to need to get a tech to come and load the system software.

Maybe the files installed are corrupted or some files missing, try to re-install the driver of your printer

Just refixc ink toner cartrdges then turn the on canon image runner again and check.
Alos check in control panel printer and faxes then right click on current prinrter and give test page.
Also check in adavanced that start priting immediately there.
