Question about LG Flatron L1750S 17" LCD Monitor
My screen (Flatron L1750S) sometimes shut down for no reason. When it shuts, a message appear on it that says "GESTION ALIM". When i try to open the screen, it doesn't work. So i got to restart the computer and i can't save the things that i was doing on it. Help?
This is French for "food alarm" but a better translation is "power alarm"
This message is normal if the video connector is removed or loose, it can also happen if you are running a fullscreen program or game with an incompatible screen resolution.
Another possiblitiy is that the graphics card could be loose in the slot or overheating, especially since you said it happens for no reason.

Well, Gestion Alim is French for "Power Management." It means that your computer is shutting off power to the video using the ACPI power settings, probably stand-by or hibernation. Bring up the Power Management settings in your operating system (in Windows, it's the Display icon in the Control Panel) and change them to something more reasonable. If you want to disable them completely in Windows, change to "Presentation" and make sure that hard disks and display are both set to "Never" shut-off.
