You can charge each 12V battery with a standard charger. Just attach the leads directly to the batteries.

Several dollars for an old 12 v charger at an auction.
Then several more for a HF charger.
These are a must for a DIY.

I have an old electric bike but have no idea what make it is or how to find out. The place I bought has closed. The label had timco on it. The problem I have is the wheel goes round really slowly with a...

hi.
timco electric vehicles is a small company specialising in the import and sale of electric vehicles.
i must admit that i have never heard of them before, and i am not sure if they are still trading, but the link below has the business contact details.
try phoning, or writing to them enclosing photos of your bike. if they are still there, they can probably identify your bike.

as for the charging issue, you will probably find that the batteries need replacing, especially if the bike has not been used and charged regularly. this could also account for the wheel moving slowly.

the bike itself probably needs a full service. treat the bike as a normal pedal bike for the frame, brakes bearings etc.

without more information i am afraid there is not much more i can suggest, but i hope i have given you a couple of things to try.

Well, I think the answer is in the question...

Either the charger is bad, or the batteries are. Have someone qualified check the charger voltage.

Replace whichever is bad.

Who could I send the blade interior section to to replace a broken part?

If you purchased it before 2008, nobody. Sharper image went bankrupt and was bought by another co who does NOT warranty or repair older products. Below is excerpt from their site:

Q. I bought an item from the Former Sharper Image that is broken, what do I do?
A. Unfortunately, we are not able to assist you with products purchased from the Former Sharper Image Company, which filed for bankruptcy on February 19, 2008. We are a new company offering new and innovative Sharper Image products.

Q. What happened to the Sharper Image retail stores?
A. All Sharper Image retail stores have closed.

Q. What is the difference between the New Sharper Image and the Former Sharper Image?
A. On Friday, May 30, 2008, the Former Sharper Image (The Sharper Image Corporated) assets were acquired by a joint venture formed between Hilco Consumer Capital, Gordon Brothers and Bluestar Alliance. This joint venture has been re-established as The Sharper Image. Through a licensing agreement with The Sharper Image, Camelot Venture Group, is in charge of managing and operating the SharperImage.com website and ecommerce platform. SharperImage.com has no affiliation to The Sharper Image Corporated ("TSIC") that filed for bankruptcy in 2008, or any of the various retail stores currently selling Sharper Image licensed products.

Battery charger on green light when battery flat ,it should be on red also when charger plugged into bike, bike works ok when you take charger out bike stops working

If your bike works when you have the charger connected but doesn't whith the charger disconnected and just the battery then your battery is not charged or you have a bad connection between the battery and ebike.
If the battery charger is showing green then it normally means that charging has stopped charging and there is no current flow to battery. This could be because the battery is fully charged, OR there is an open circuit (broken wire, etc.) between the charger and battery, OR your battery is so flat the voltage is below the low voltage cut-off point of the charger so the charger is not switching on.
You need to check the voltage out of your battery and compare it to the LVC of your charger (should be specified in the user manual), but from what you have described I'd say you need to replace your battery.

I keep a slow trickle on the battery at all times, but I still can't seem to keep it charged. How can I tell if something is draining the battery? COuld it be the alarm system light? P.S. My husband and I...

first check if the battery is any good,, it maybe that its lived its life and you need to put a new one on the bike,,also check if this battery charger is realy charging the battery up,,the charger may be working but is the charge reaching the battery? to check if there is a drain just hook up a meeter if it reads a big drain when nothing is on then its the alarm using up the power but the charger should keep the battery toped up ok? i keep a solar sell of 2.5 watts hooked up to my bmw all the time and i never have had a flat battery yet!!! a charger may "over cook" the battery and that will kill it off very fast, all it needs is a stand by charge going into it thats only about 50ma 's and a battery's life is only about 2 to 3 years so if its older than this fit a new one to the bike

1993 Kawasaki 750R - Charging issue - Weird!!!

i know this sounds silly ,but when you bought the battery had it been activated, new batterys are critical in their first charge and you cannot use a standare type automotve charger,if bought dry the battery needs to have the acid filled ,left to sit for at least 2 hours prior to charging, once it has sat for the 2 hrs with the acid in,the new battery will need to be charged with a "cteck"or similar type charger for at least 13 hrs before it can be put into normal service, what happened with yours i think is that sure you gave it a charge but it has only recieved a "surface charge"and will be usable for a very short time,it may recover for a brief period and go again untill the surface charge dissipates,(or in other words ..runs out of charge)best thing you can do with the battery is take it to a auto electrician and have the battery cycled and conditioned, this is not expensive to do and will give you piece of mind, after conditioning the battery shouldngive excellent service,i have the battery in my goldwing coditioned about every 12 months and i have the same battery that was in the bike when i bought the bike 8 years ago and still no electrical or battery problems(costs about $25 to get it done)once a year but that beats $280 for a new one...hope this helps
