The Realtek High Definition Audio Drive fails to install. And cannot be removed. I am using Windows XP Operating System. When I look at the Device list, no sound driver is installed and no sound is created by the system .

Device manager says everything is now running fine but I have no audio device. I loaded a PCI audio device and it also will not work even though device manager says it is working find. It seems to be related to the Realtek HD driver since this problem appeared after I reloaded those drivers. I finally stumbled on this location after removing audio through the BIOS and then reinstalling it. That was when the driver issue appeared.

I have the same problem as Amit. Do the instructions given "You will need to find it in Device Manager and remove it before you install the Realtek HD driver" refer to the Realtek device or the Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio? I, like Amit, am not able to uninstall the Realtek device, comes up with "device may be required to boot the system". Help?
