open the cover and now remove the waist toner container (you say it is empty) check the conection to the drum unit sometimes if the waist toner is verry full there is a pille of toner closing this connection, now clean it and all the sorounding from the toner and mount the waist container back in his possition, close the front cover and try, it should work now.
When the life span of the waste toner container has expired or it's full, the smart panel program window appears on the computer, indicating the waste toner container needs to be replaced. Otherwise your machine stops printing.
To replace it follow these instructions: -Turn the machine off, then wait a few minutes for the machine to cool. -Using the handle, completely open the front cover. -Pull the waste toner container out of the machine using its handle. -Remove the container's cap from the container, and use it to close the waste toner container opening. Do not tilt or turn over the container. -Take a new waste toner container out of its package. -Insert the new container into position and then push it to make sure that it is firmly seated in place. -Close the front cover firmly. If the front cover is not completely closed, the machine will not operate. -Please make sure all toner cartridges are installed properly. If any toner cartridge is installed improperly, the front cover do not close. -Turn the machine on.
Here are the steps to replace the waste toner tank:
1. Turn the machine off, and then wait a few minutes for the machine to cool. 2. Open the front cover. 3. Pull the waste toner container out of the machine using its handle. Note: Make sure that you lay the waste toner container on a flat surface so that the toner does not spill. 4. Remove the container's cap from the container as shown below, and use it to close the waste toner container opening. Caution: Do not tilt or turn over the container. 5. Take a new waste toner container out of its package. 6. Insert the new container into position and then push it to make sure that it is firmly seated in place. 7. Close the front cover firmly. Caution: If the front cover is not completely closed, the machine will not operate. 8. Turn the machine on. Note: After rebooting, your machine will automatically reset the counter for the waste toner container.
If you open the front of the printer then you will find a waste tank in the left side - its gray. Take it out and empty it, and put the tank back in place.
This works for Samsung CLX-2160
The life of the waste toner container unit is approximately 1,250 pages for full color 5% image printing or 5,000 pages for black printing. When the life span of the waste toner container has expired, Replace/Install Waste Toner Tank appears on the display of the control panel, indicating the waste toner container needs to be replaced. Otherwise your printer stops printing.
To replace the waste toner container:
1 Turn the machine off, then wait a few minutes for the machine to cool.
2 Open the front cover.
3 Pull the waste toner container out of the machine using its handle.
--- above from manual, following is my paraphrasing due to lack of pictures --- 4. remove the container cap from the back side and cap the opening
5. take the new waste container out of its package
6. install the new waste toner container.
___________ You may wish to TRY EMPTYING the waste toner, but you will find toner is the messiest and possibly dangerous (inhallation, etc) stuff you've worked with. it is an extremely find powder and can cause an awful mess and is best disposed of by capping and replacing the container with a new one (shop around to find them).
DO NOT attempt to vacuum up toner - just my personal opinion - I suspect many vacuums may not have fine enough "bags" to capture this intentionally very fine dust. BUT Toner vacuums do exist and some "may" work.
I have a CLX-2160N and have just emptied my own waste toner container. (Disclaimer: not sure how toxic or environmentally friendly this is). Emptied carefully and thoroughly (fine dust). Immersed in bowl of warm soapy water, and vigorous shaking to get nice and clean. Shook all water out well, and dried off as much as possible. Reinstalled. Turned printer back on. Hey presto - seems happy.
