Ok after a bit of research I understand that the Lg Prada phone uses a Capacitive touchscreen technology. Wiki this and you will find that the plastic strip attached to the underneath of the front cover of the phone (with its circuit ribbon that connects to the main circuit board of the phone) has a sticky substance holding it air tight to the underside of the front cover. This sticky substance is Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) and conducts a continuous electrical current accross to the sensor. So if you have bought a new cover from ebay etc like I have and replaced the new cover with the old scratched one, you need to get yourself some ITO sputtered onto the screen to make its capacitive touchscreen technology work again.... hope this is a more technical answer than some of the idiots that post unhelpful solutions to questions(solution 1!).

Actually, although it was directed at "me"a prada phone user, the response was pretty funny. Very rare that I laugh or smurk at myself while alone (on computer). Anyway, the latter part of his comment (get a refund) unfortunately won't work if you have opened the case of your phone for any reason. The tech will know when you sent it to them for warranty repair, and they will charge you to get it back (out of warranty) LG does not have the most stellar of warranty. Some more humor in honor if the guy above.... I get better service from my spouse and my significant covers much more scenarios, and even parts. LG's is a "limited warranty" with many exclusions and conditions.. kinda like my last spouse.

for the front panel to be functional, you would have to reattach the digitizer flat cable from the original screen and then apply the ito layer in some fashion. it is very unlikely that you can do this yourself so the replacement front panel is basically useless.

you can buy a refurbished front panel with the digitizer already attached if your phone is really scratched. costs about $35-50 on ebay.

otherwise, use displex to repair the worst scratches.

I have the same problem- I had the cover replaced on my Prada phone, and found that the touchscreen would not work- I am assuming they left some kind of circuit board out, how do I get it fixed? Helen

I dont know what has happened with my cell phone, but i also own the PRADA LG and the touch screen is not responding. I have turned it on and off several times to reset the phone and it is still not working. Everything else works just fine, but when I am at my main screen and go to touch the menu or the messaging button or any one of the 4 on the bottom, they do not respond. Including my clock. How can i fix this?
Please e-mail me back at jlo8687@aol.com
Thank you!!!

I also changed the housing on the Prada KE850 which was not an easy task. Now the touchscreen does not respond at all. Everything else works. Can anyone help?

Comment by Lennart, posted on Jan 05, 2008

Touch screen is not reposponding properly. When sim card has been inserted I can not put in pin number, only the "8" and "C" works.
Any ideas?
