Daewoo TV model DTA21Y1P - is the SCART socket RGB enabled so it can accept component input?

Hi - I'm trying to determine if the SCART socket on my Daewoo TV model DTA21Y1P is RGB enabled so it can accept component input. Then I can use an RGB to SCART cable to connect an AppleTV box to my TV. Thanks.

Have a red wii. plays but no color help......plz

Hi.

Check all the leads from the Wii to the TV and make sure they are not loose or broken. Also check the regional settings in the settings menu and make sure its set to your area.
If your TV has component inputs make sure you have a Wii component cable or you could buy a Wii RGB Scart cable if you only have a spare scart input. If you turn on the Wii press menu on your TV and alter the AV settings. For example, change the setting to composite opposed to RGB. Also check your Wii settings and change them to be in parallel with the TV settings.

You need to convert the component sync signals into a composite sync compatible with SCART. The red, green and blue signals can be connected through as-is.

The picture is blue when I play a dvd. I recently connected it to a new Vizio TV. The other tv it was connected to gave us a good picture.

Check your connections for faults, also some connections on TV's are for RGB inputs, so you might have to try another connector or if you can switch the DVD's output to RGB etc.

Connecting dvd?

If everything is connected and dvd player is on, make sure you have the proper input selected on the TV. Input2 on this model TV. Try switching between the inputs.

An important thing you need to do is set the RGB input signal from PC to YUV or you won't have a good picture. This is done through the menu system

I have a scart(out) to rgb phono 3 plus 2 audio when I connect I get a message ;Mode not supported&; I am trying to free up a scart socket on my tv and also improve my picture.

Hi.
I think you are A little confused.
The 5 phono connections are for component this is not compatible with scart.
You may be able to use A svhs lead if your tv & item you wish to connect have svhs sockets & then usu red & white phono for the audio.

Green Picture

The problem sounds like one I had. If so, the cause is as follows.

The Daewoo ouputs synchronisation information on the green channel of the RGB outputs (which are pins in the SCART socket) The Panasonic TV automatically preferentially selects the RGB input in the SCART rather than the composite video signal in the SCART. The video circuits in the Panasonic should ignore the sync on the green channel but instead interpret the sync as green signal information which means the adjustment of the green channel is upset leading to a very green picture.

Possible solutions:
1. From the TV, manually select composite video input, not RGB. This may not be possible - I think the TV automatically goes for the RGB if it is present.
2. Disconnect the wire to pin 16 in the SCART socket. This is the signal from the VCR/DVD to indicate that RGB is available. Disconnecting it means the TV defaults to the composite video. This is what I did.
3. Connect the TV to the VCR/DVD using component or S-VHS leads only.

Video output from VHS recorder

does your television have multiple scart connectors? Sometimes some models have only 1 connector that will accept RGB signals... Another thing you can check are VCR settings - scart component video output is not "official" and hence you might need to look at some of the setting if you need to enable it. Another possibility is that your scart cable may not have your rgb signals connected (based on wikipedia reference: "not all SCART cables make use of all the pins, often leaving out RGB signals. In many cases there is also no way to see which type of signal that is currently displayed on the TV set."
