Your power connection inside sounds like it broke away from its solder joint. If you can solder you can fix this by opening up and reflowing the connection with a soldering iron.

SOURCE: How to open (disassemble) the hp psc 1210?

It's been quite some time since I have opened one up, but if I remember this correctly, there are screws in each of the holes on the corners of the printer. They are difficult to see but they are there. You need a fairly long 5/32" (I think) hexdriver or Allen wrench to get at them.

Asus essentrio series monitor wont stay on. it blinks ever so often. help

Loose contact in power supply or the video socket at the desktop or the monitor. Just move the cable around and if the problem recurs then it's either the power or video cable problem.

My gateway profile 5 won't turn on. Checked plugs

Try to power drain it. Unplug all the power related devices that are connected, like a monitor data cable or external printer, just unplug all the cables in the back after you shut down your computer, press the power switch of your computer and keep it pressed for about 45 secs, release it, plug everything back and check it if its working. As well double check if that particular socket is usable, plug something else in to see if its working.

It wont charge im holding it right nw hoping it wont shut down help fast

If your laptop won't hold a charge and you need to hod the connection in order for it to stay on, you may have a power jack issue. The power jack on the laptop may have been moved around from moving the laptop while connected or wiggling around the connection, and needs to be re-soldered back on the motherboard.

Also, just before taking that step, try using a different or brand new charger. Sometimes the pin inside a charger might be bent or broken, therefore not making a proper connection with the power jack.

Hope this helps.

I have a gateway desktop computer. Recently moved

Before you actually replace the power supply, check some other things first:
1. Wall socket
2. Power strip/surge protector
3. Power cable
4. On the back of the computer, where the power cable plugs into, is the red switch set to 115? It should be 115.
5. Make sure that the power cable is not connected to a regular extension cord. Power cable must plug directly into a surge protector that is not daisy-chained to another power strip, surge protector, or normal (household) extension cord. Surge protector must be directly plugged into wall socket.

If none of the above solve the problem, open up the case and ensure that all power connections are secure. Also check ALL other components' connections. Any loose connections can cause problems for you.

If everything is secure and the problem persists, replace the power supply.

My computer wont start

Does wire = power cable?

Try and:

- reconnect all canles to the correct slots on the PC
- Make sure power cable is firmly in computer and socket
- Check powerbars and sockets have power going to them (!)
- Change power cable to a known working one and/or change the fuse in the plug

If you are unsure which cables go where, please mail me of the back of the Pc and I will tell you where they go.

Printer wont turn on

First things to check are that the power cord is properly plugged in and the socket it turned on (yes, sounds obvious but has caught me out in the past).

Beyond that, if your cable has a fuse in the plug, check that... try a different power cord and obviously check that the socket does indeed work.

Locating a working power socket and new cable that you know works and then seeing if that gives you any juice is the only other option... If that doesn't work your printer would appear to be in printer heaven.

I cant figure out what the printer power cable is for my Dell 924

If you are talking about the cable that plugs into the wall socket, it shoudh have a 3 prong plug that goes to a square block that fits into your printer.
