1. Restart Modem
2. Double check all plugs, make sure they are firmly in
3. Double check any password or proxy settings and see that they're correct
4. Make sure Wireless is enabled

- If a laptop, make sure the Wireless button is on and the light for it is blinking or making some show of it self.

If it's a desktop, check the internet connections in your networking control panel. Make sure it isn't disabled.

Also I recommend renewing your IP & refreshing the connection.

Last resort to reset modem, find the little button on the modem (usually you have to use a pen/pencil as it's in a little hole) and hold it for 15 seconds.

If still nothing contact your ISP, or talk to your local computer shop. If you've covered everything I've suggested, then it the ISP or professional needs to look at it.

I hope I've been of some assistance!

Good luck!

I recommend the doing the following in the order listed.
Connect your computer to the router with an ethernet cable. Power down and then power up the router by unplugging the power cord and then plugging it back in. Hit the reset button on the back of the router. You may need a sharp object like a pen or pencil to poke it. Reboot your computer. Open a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, and type in http:192.168.1.1. A window should pop up asking for a user name and a password. Don't enter a user name and type admin for the password. Hit ok. The router setup screen should come up. Click on the administration tab. Then click on the factory defaults sub-tab. The sub-tabs are in blue just below the normal tabs. Hit yes to restore factory defaults. Now disconnect the ethernet cable connecting your computer to the router and see if you can connect to the internet wirelessly. This procedure will disable any security setting you have on your wireless network. If you want to secure your network you can go back into the router setup and hit the wireless tab followed by the wireless security tab and then redo your security setting.

Log in to the router and check that the WPA/PSK encryption ID or passphrase is still stored. If you have reset the router it may be that the encryption passphrase has been lost and will require to be re-entered. If you cannot remember it it may be possible to obtain it from the properties/settings dialog box on one of the wifi cards on your home computers.

Cannot connect ipod touch to linksys router

Use an Ethernet cable to connect a computer to a port on the router.
Access the router's built-in web-interface, and run the "Wireless Networking Setup Wizard", to configure your wireless network,
and pick an SSID and pick a password.

Then, after restarting the router, enable the wireless networking on your iPod Touch, and it should find your SSID. Enter your password, and you will get connected.

SMC EZ Connect 2862W-G does not see Linksys network

It shows that your wireless router and wireless adapters are both working. One thing to try is changing your wireless channel. Since you are already using 11, try maybe 1 or 9. Check if your SMC adapter will pick up the wireless signal.

By the way, how far is your computer (using the SMC adapter) to your wireless router?

Laptop not seeing my wireless router

Try to manually "Add device to network" by using the wireless setup wizard. Check to see if the Wireless Zero Configuration service is "Running" before trying to add device. Yuo may also want to disable IPv6 in vista tcp/ip properties page.
