Run a Laser Lens Cleaner thru it a couple times, one that uses fluid. You can find them at any electronics retailer for 15-20 bucks. If you still get the same error, the transport needs to be replaced. The avg cost is between 125-175. Hope this helps

My head unit will not play burnt cds

I have a similar problem, When i try to play burnt cd's it would sometimes work and sometimes would skip or crackle as if it cannot read. I tried a standard bought cd and worked flawlessly so it cannot be the lens.

One thing i tried is when burning music to the disc turn the "write speed" right down to the slowest setting. If using Windows Media Player it is available by pressing Alt then navigating to the options menu. select burn -> write speed -> slowest. It doesnt go much slower but i think it writes less errors to the cd which makes it like a standard bought cd.

Hope this sheds some light on the situtation and good luck,

When trying to play cds keep getting ''E'' error message. this is in my car cd player. any suggestions

If the message is "error" The CD Lens is bad. Try disconnecting the negative lead from the car battery for about 10 min. But! Make sure your stereo does not have an anti-theft system, because if you disconnect the battery the stereo needs to put a code or will not work again. If after this your stereo still not working you have to take it to any electronics repair shop (the CD lens is bad).

Delco stereo wont play cd-r (mp3)

I believe CDA extensions are actually just shortcuts to the audio file and not the actual audio file. You will want to convert your MP3's to .wav in order to play them in your radio. Roxio and Nero version 4 and higher will automatically do this for you and a version should have come with your computer or CD burner. Just place the MP3's in the record section and select output audio CD.

I have a Alpine CDA-9851R CD player and I cant turn the volume above 17.I have a amplifier and subwofer fitted in the boot. The problem started after one of my friends was playing with it.

this probably isnt it but my stereo got messed up like that because i think i turned it up and down way to much. maybe try pulling the volume button out and putting it back in.
