Question about Panasonic KX-FL511 Plain Paper Laser Fax

Fax not clear

When I send a fax and someone receive it is not clear. When I receive a fax has lines that do not print and the document can be hardly read. How can I clean the fax or is that another problem?

Noisy phone line can cause this or it could be drum cartridge or even fuser, check phone line for noise by listening to it, if noisy report it or put on required filter if using ADSL.

Also test machine when doing a copy, and when printing a report, is there a problem too?

without more info you fault is one of these.. line, drum cartridge , fuser or dirty scan glass (where originals are fed.)

Cant send fax out. getting a message exceeded job memory. How do I clear this

As the model is not mentioned its difficult to right solution. But in general when a document sent from memory some times this happen. This is frequent if memory recieved is more and not printed.
Its cleared on printing all memory recieved or memory cleared(all received fax will deleted).
Also sending fax manually may be done.I.e.Dial the fax no.get the fax tone load the document press start or send. Also in setting the scanning resolution may be minimised up to150/200dpi for less memory.

Whenever i send a fax, the machine confirms by viewing 'TRANSMITTING OK' but the addressee receives a blank document

Check the baud rate of your transmissions. Slow them down to the slowest setting and send a test fax to a helpful person. Slowly increase the baud rate (communication data speed) and send the fax test. When the fax doesn't show up on the receive site, then step one baud rate speed back, and save the setting.

It could also be your fax that is faulty, or even the receive sites fax, also being faulty.

To test your copy-head, insert a document into your loading section of the fax and press copy. If the copy prints out fine, then you know the head is reading correctly.

It is also possible that the receiver fax (the other end) has a printhead failure.

We received a cople of faxes from different sources. There are lines down all the pages except the top (there is readable text there) and the lines are from the letters (like they have been stretched) like...

That sounds exactly like the sending fax is document is stalling, so a single line across the page gets sent for a few seconds. You can easily check your own machine's scan and print quality by putting anything in the doc feeder and copying it.
To test the print section alone, use the menus (or I think your model has a separate Report button) to print out the Help list.
It's possible that both your sending correspondents have slick, hard document feeder rollers, but you'd think they would have heard complaints from others. I can't think of anything at your end that would stretch out your prints, and there's no Bulletin about it on Brother's service website.
On the off chance you have a glitch in your machine's memory fouling it up, you can clear it out. This page has instructions for clearing out only the image memory (91) or all of it (01). It may or may not help, but only takes a couple of minutes to try.

My Brother Intellifax 4100 sends faxes that appear with a solid black line on the side--i think it's the right hand side. It prints copies the same way. How can I fix it?

if the faxes going out have the line but coming in print out clear then the glass at the document feeder is dirty and probably needs cleaning.. check under the feeder cover and look for a glass piece where the documents go in this picks up dirt and typex and when it scans the document it thinks its on the original.. a soft cloth and some glass cleaner should clean it off..

It's gone forever, once your machine received a EOT (end of transmission signal), your fax machine thinks it was received OK and clears it from memory.

Canon L100 fax receives messages but doesn't print them

Try to clear the fax, with Menu and #, then clear, and select all. Then from begining enter all parameters ( name, number, reports,... ) it should help.

Having trouble receiving faxes, takes several times of someone sending to me to receive.

First thing to check is the condition of the phone line, if the machine has a handset make a phone call from the handset, is the line clear? Is there any static or Echos on the line?
Is the machine on a shared line with computers or an answering machine?
Call the Fax machine from a phone, is the line clear? did the machine generate its handshake burst? Did anything else try to answer the line?
Check the phone cable input, it should be going onto the LINE jack on the back of the machine.

Will not make a copy

If it won't copy, it is unlikely to handle faxes either since those functions use the same scanner. If your received faxes are coming out blank, then it is a problem with the ink system; if you can get faxes printed but not copy a document, the scanner may be at fault.
Have someone send you a fax to check this function (printing) and then try sending one back to check the scanner.
If either one fails, then hyou know where the problem lays.
