Unlocking my Maxtor on my computer (by 6 users)

I cannot unlock my Maxtor!!! I have my password but it will not accept it. Problem may have occured when Maxtor was unplugged and turned off for a time. I may have added to the password when it was reinstalled. I can't remember the original! Senior moment I guess!! Can I reprogram it with a new password?

I have a 100GB external hard drive and it also is locked. This happened after a power outage, and now I cannot access any information on it.

Maxtor external drive. Out of the blue is now 'locked'. I went to my computer, right clicked on the drive. Option says 'unlock', sweet! ha, it was SOUR, did NOTHING. Have minimal tech knowledge. Need help, how do I unlock the drive so I can not only recover but archive all my family photos on it once again?!?!

I have an external hard drive Maxtor 300gig and it lacked up and I can unlack it. Please help

Maxtor 80GB drive is not allowing writing to disk. Disk Utilities shows the drive is not full and unlocked and read/write. however any coping, expanding functions to the disk fail. the is sme error message that is not helpful.
It is a new disk and run through USB to Mac OS x.

When my MAXTOR 3200 was pluged in to my MAC computer the green indicator light came on, the external drive symbol came on to my start menu,but a box came on to the screen saying-----
THE DISK IS LOCKED,READ ONLY,OR COMPLETELY FULL.
What can i do to unlock it?

you will need

1. Windows 98 se bootdisk
www.bootdisk.com

2. AtaPWD
http://files.filefront.com/atapwdzip/;7100406;/fileinfo.html

Make a windows 98 se bootdisk
copy the atapwd files in there

start dos
Unlock the harddrive.
