Question about Sharp EL-1197P Calculator

1 Answer

Printer malfunction The printer function is not working properly. When switched to print mode, it prints a series of alternating P+ and P- until it is shut off. Have had this problem with several calculators. Is this something I can fix?

when I am in the P P position, it prints rows of red dots with alternating -P and +P. IF I hold the switch, it will print my numbers in black, but as soon as I take my finger off the switch, it reverts back to the red dot and -P and +P problem. I can't print my work.

    Thank you.. Jack M.

I too am having that problem. I have called the company and they could not help. Of course, it needs to be sent for repair. By the time that is done, it is probably cheaper to buy a new one. Just not a sharp this time.

My c3135 series Hp all in one printer went offline, how do i get it to print again?

Go to system settings and select the 'Printer' option.

Right-click on the printer and enable the 'Use Printer Online' function.

Cancel all the printing jobs till that moment and redo the process.

Sometimes the 'Printer Offline' message occurs due to a 'Job Stuck' issue.

Check all network connections and functions.

Be sure the network interfaces work properly.

Turn the printer off and on to see whether the device is working properly.

I get drag lines when printing, can you suggest a solution?

Make sure the ink levels are still good. Try to do the Clean Cartridge function on the printer. On the printer operator panel, press Copy mode > press ? or ? repeatedly until Maintenance is highlighted > press check > press ? or ? repeatedly until Clean Cartridges is highlighted > press check. Your printer will then print and begin the cartridge cleaning. Once done, try to print again and check if it is properly printing now.

You have not specified which printer you are using.
1. In a serial printer having a displaceable printing head and being selectively operative in a setting mode for setting a variable character pitch and in a normal mode for effecting a printing operation according to the set character pitch: a plurality of manually operable switches each having assigned thereto a normal function which is performed when the switch is operated when the printer is in the normal mode and having assigned thereto a setting function which is performed when the switch is operated when the printer is in the setting mode, at least one of the switches having a setting function which effects selective displacement of the printing head to one of a plurality of predetermined positions each corresponding to a different character pitch; means for producing character pitch data effective to specify a desired character pitch according to the selected position to which the printing head is selectively displaced; and storage means operative when the printer is in the setting mode for setting therein the desired character pitch data for use during a printing operation of the printer in the normal mode.

2. A serial printer according to claim 1; including controlling means for controlling the serial printer to effect changeover between the normal mode and setting mode.

3. A serial printer according to claim 2; wherein one of the switches has a setting function which enables the controlling means to set the setting mode.

4. A serial printer according to claim 3; wherein two of the switches have setting functions which effect selective displacement of the printing head in opposite directions.

Ink not dry and significant smudging

there r various modes in the printer in which u have to print .and that u have to you said it is printing properly on ordinary paper.the printer is perfect.the photo paper have less soaking power that ordinary the photo paper can consume ink but not so quickly as ordinary paper.
u just change that printmode and then check out how it prints.
for example the modes r ----------best mode printing.
better mode printing.
fine mode printing
normal mode printing.
draft mode printing
economy mode printing.
now i f u print in best mode it will consume lots of ink but will take lots of time to print.
if u select normal mode it will consume less ink and print quickly.

u can change the settings in printer properties.
