Re: Need user name and PW for web interface

Go here for the manufacturer product page, and a link to the pdf manual for it. The starting User Name and Password are on the first page of that manual.

I have a Galaxy Metal Gear Box. It will house two hard drives. It refuses to post the second drive. I just put a brand new one in it. Same result. Rocky

If both drives are SATA (not "parallel-ATA") drives, then "swap" the physical location of the two drives, to see if only the "top" (or the "bottom") drive is NEVER detected. Or, if the "detected" drive moves after the drives are swapped, then the non-detected drive has a problem. In that case, remove the "good" drive, to see if the "bad" drive can be detected when it is the only active drive.

I have a Mad Dog Mulltimedia external usb floppy dsrive. It does not work on my windows 7 computer. Can you help me find a driver or whatever I need? Virginia Wilbur

Mad Dog is, unfortunately, out of business by all indications and there is no support available from them. I suspect that Windows 7 will not have a driver that is compatible with the enclosure's interface. Depending upon what brand/model of actual hard drive is inside the enclosure (Western Digital, Seagate, whatever) you may be able to dismantle the enclosure, remove the actual disk drive, and use it in another enclosure with an up-to-date interface. That is only a would require a certain amount of mechanical expertise and a good phillips screwdriver ;-)

My Metal Gear Box external hard drive has a flashing blue light, and my computer does not detect the external hard drive, what is the problem?

the weird cheap power supply they used has failed. I will never buy another galaxy product. This whole time I thought the hard drive crashed, but it was the enclosure all along that died at about a year.

My external hard drive is not being recognized by my computer.

Try using another USB cable or different port on your PC. It also may be that it needs external power, Check to see if its plugged in to the wall, if it is, it may be that you need a new power supply.

Sounds like you haven't formatted the external Hard-Drive.
You need to allocate a file-system to the free space on your hard drive. You can do that in Disk Management and use the format option. You can select from two file system formats: FAT32 and NTFS. I would recommend NTFS because it is a journalling file system (recovers quickly in case of a crash).
