Question about Samsung LN-T1953H 19 in. LCD HDTV

Our 46" Samsung blacks out for up to 2 seconds throughout the day

Our 46" lcd hdtv Samsung goes to black for one to two seconds and then continues in fine order. This happens off and on during the day. There seems to be no pattern. We have FIOS as our provider. Could someone tell me if this is normal and if the problem is associated with the tv or the cable provider? Thanks. Pat

First hook up a DVD player and let a movie run for a while. If the pix still blacks out then you have a bad Main bd in the tv. If it does not then you have a problem with the source box. More often problems are with the source such as a cable or sat box.

Why my 42" sanyo DP42841 HDTV LCD SCREEN GOES BLACK ON THE LEFT SIDE?

That sounds like a faulty LCD panel tab. The only true fix is to replace the screen. This usually isn't cost effective.

Not getting a picture from a Samsung 46" LCD TV

check if the back lamps are still on when you lose image, all you have to do is get close to the screen and make is totally black and if is not that means you have a back light working, but if the back light is gone you may have a defective panel.

talked to samsung TA about the same problem I had and the recommend to replace the power supply first to confirm a defective panel because a panel is quite expensive

Thats Samsung for you. They are designed to last just right outside the warranty then fail. Typically the LCD panels are bad, and they are the most expensive part on that Korean unit.
