I am Vikram Kumar Thumu from India-Hyderabad. I would like to provide you my suggestions on this issue for you...
Well, this issue could happen only due to below three reasons....
1. If the Hard Disk Drive is bad.
2. If RAM card is not working properly.
3. If there is an error with Operating system...
However, to isolate and to resolve the issue I recommend you to perform below solutions and try out. I hope that this should resolve the issue for you.
Solution 1: BIOS UPDATE OR BIOS FLASH
Note**--- THIS BIOS UPDATE IS APPLICABLE IF YOU ARE USING WINDOWS XP.
NOTE**-- If you are ready to perform BIOS update, please connect the Notebook with Ac Adapter and make sure that Battery is also installed for Notebook.
Please open below link in the new Internet Explorer web page...
The web page titles as " WinFlash Utility for HP Notebook System BIOS; Windows-Based"
Once if you open the web page, please click on the option " Download Only" and then try to save the download file on Desktop and run the file after download is completed.
This should successfully install the BIOS Update. However, if the issue still persists then please perform next solution
In this solution we will check the functionality of Hard Disk Drive...
Please restart the Notebook, while it tries to boot up please press F10 key, this should get into BIOS screen or ( SETUP UTILITY ) screen.
In the BIOS screen please locate to the Tools or Advanced Menu, and then select the option HARD DRIVE SELF TEST. and go ahead with testing the HARD DRIVE SELF TEST.
Once if test is completed, it reports a message of the status on Condition of Hard Disk Drive. If you receive error message then it confirms that this is an issue with hard Disk Drive. then you need to replace the Hard Disk Drive for your Notebook.
Else if it reports success, then it confirms that Hard Drive Drive is perfectly alright..
Then only possibility that is left is " Error with Operating system"..
if you found that it is an issue with Operating System then please go ahead with reinstall of the Operating System for your Notebook PC.
This should resolve the issue for you...
If you need any further assistance on this issue, you can mail me at email@example.com , I'll be glad to help you further on this issue.
