We have a home network. Main PC is connected to internet and uses INtel R Pro/100 network adapter. 2nd computer also has that network but 3rd computer has broadcom.

We have a new router- Linksys and a new modem- motorola. The PC with broadcom is not getting internet connection and I called Linksys- comcast referred me to them since the router is not their product. Linksys told me that I have to contact Broadcom.

    Any suggestions?

Is this a new installation or an existing adapter?

If new, make sure it's seated correctly in the pci slot.

When you plug the network cable in does the light on the adapter come on? If not, then your adapter is dead and it's going to need replaced.

Wifi is not working while iam using in windows XP operating system

Hi Sivakumar133,

Some reasons why wifi stops working is due to corrupted driver or defective WLAN card. There are some ways on how to diagnose this problem, just reinstall the driver and configure it again with the wireless access point. You can download the WLAN driver for this particular system by visiting this link. You will notice that on the Networking Wireless LAN section it has 2 types of WLAN card, Broadcom and Intel. Just try to install the Broadcom driver because this is compatible with XP. If you're not sure what is the model of your WLAN just check it under device manager and look for Network adapter. After downloading, install the .exe file then restart the system. You can now configure again the computer to your router.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

My broadcom network adapter is not working. It

Some HP notebooks will disable the wireless card when you connect an ethernet cable. Or it could have power saving turned on for that device. Check device properties and disable powersaving mode for any network devices. If it has been functioning fine and this is a recent development, your network card could be failing but there isn't enough data at this point to make that conclusion.

Cannot get Internet connection with Broadcom 440x controller.

are you sure the connection in "my network places" is for that adaptor? try going to system properties - hardware - deivice manager and check the network card is properly installed there. you may need to update the drivers which u will obvioucly have to download from another computer.
