I have a casio ce 3700 and I can't log on. or anything. we got it second hand today. there is no user manual or anything. We basically just need it to open and close to lock up the cash. and as an adding...

this should be easy enough. You will most likely need to use the reset button on the inside of the printer cabinet. Once reset you may need a new battery .
Unplug the machine. Turn the key to program. HOld down the red reset button inside the printer cabinet. After counting to 10 release the reset button. If the display comes back with all "'0's" all should be good. If this gets this far then enter 12001 and press subtotal. the machine will stall momentarily and be ready to run.

Cash register ce 3700 showing error E8 but we don't know the secret codes, how do we resolve the problem?

Hi. You haven't logged on. If you have the european version, there are clerk buttons next to the key. If USA version, you must log on with a PIN number and press CLK# button. If you still have trouble, the users manual is here:

Error8 on Casio registers means you are not logged on. You need to log a clerk (operator) onto the machine (either press one of the clerk buttons near the key, or use the PIN number and clerk button if you have codes for log-on). If you can't log-on, then you have probably contaminated the keyboard membrane sheets inside the keyboard, and they will need to be dried or repaired.

Usually EO8 means that there has been clerk numbers programmed into the machine and you haven't signed in. To reset the registers just make sure to take all batteries out and keep them unplugged for at least 45 minutes and that will drain all the internal memory from them. Then you can reprogram them the way you want. :)

Casio CE-3700 lockup

It sounds like you have a flat, or faulty backup battery. The machine has probably lost all programming. This is common if the machine has been stored.

Try this:

Turn key to program.
Turn power off at wall.
Turn power on at wall.
When you see '000000000' or 'LLLLLLLLLL' type 21151 (for Europe), or type 12300 (for USA) then press SUBTOTAL

If you still have trouble, just let me know.

Casio CE-3700 giving E008 errors!

Yes, it definitely is the CLERK function. When you enter 0 CLK#, you are just logging off (which has already been done), so that is normal for it to accept that. If you can't get in with 1 CLK# then I'd say someone has setup special codes for this machine (PIN numbers). You will need to do a prog. read. Also, if you have four raised CLERK buttons just below the keylock, one of them should be pressed down. (they are an option on some versions). Try 1 CLK# or 2 CLK# or 3 CLK# ... up to 7. If none will log you on, let me know, and I'll tell you how to do a read on it.

Casio CE-3700 cash register MAC instructions

Hi. I would advise both of you to try a flag clear first to see if you have any program left.

Turn key to program. Power off at wall.
Hold RECEIPT FEED, and turn power on at wall.
Wait 10 seconds, then let go of RECEIPT FEED.
When you see 'FFFFFFFFF' press SUBTOTAL.
Turn key back to REG and try it.

If you still need help, let me know.
